The Order of the Common Life is a global ecumenical religious order inviting people to reimagine monastic formation into ordinary life.

While the Order is a dispersed community, we are cultivating a local expression in Tulsa anchored at the Abbey of the Heights.

“Postulancy” in the Order is a 10-month bi-weekly small group experience learning about rule of life in community.

JR Rozko from the Order will be joining us to share the vision of the postulancy experience and answer questions about the Order.

In the most recent episode, we talk with Min Soo Choi. In 2024, Min produced a short documentary, sharing the story of the Abbey of the Heights and The Sabbath Life's contemplative community. We talk about the inspirations behind that documentary, the ways that stories shape our lives and our lives with God, and how storytelling can be a healing contemplative practice.

Min is a digital storyteller and filmmaker. He and his family live in Newberg, OR. He has a Doctor of Ministry in semiotics and is soon to be ordained in the Anglican Church.

Almighty God, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ went about doing good, and healing all manner of sickness and disease among the people: Continue in our hospitals his gracious work among us; console and heal the sick; grant to the physicians, nurses, and assisting staff wisdom and skill, diligence and patience; prosper their work, O Lord, and send down your blessing upon all who serve the suffering; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
