This preacher is one of the most in tune teachers of our day. Introduce your young adults to him!

My mom called me a monster. Then she called me the world's best Gospel preacher. I thought she was crazy.

She wasn't.

She was just seeing something God showed her before I could see it myself.

That's a mother's faith.

And for a long time I didn't understand it.

I was everything she was afraid of.

Everything a mother prays her son never becomes.

She still spoke life over me.

Not because of what I was.

Because of what God told her I would be.

She believed what God saw in me before I ever could.

She chose to believe God over what she saw with her own eyes.

And that takes a different kind of faith.

The kind that looks at a monster and sees a minister.

The kind that looks at a broken son and sees the hand of Jesus already on his life.

She poured hope into me when I had none for myself.

She spoke words over my life that made no sense given who I was at the time.

And I dismissed every single one of them.

Because when you're living in darkness, light feels crazy.

When you're convinced you're too far gone, someone believing in you feels naive.

But God uses mothers.

He always has.

And mine refused to give up on me even when I had given up on myself.

Looking back I can see it now.

Every word she spoke over me was watered by her prayers.

Every prayer she prayed was heard by a God who already knew what I would become.

She just got to see it before I did.

Proverbs 31:26 says, "She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness."

The law of kindness.

My mom spoke kindness and hope over a monster.

And God turned that monster into a pastor.

If you have someone in your life who speaks life over you when you can't see it yourself, don't dismiss them.

They might be seeing exactly what God is doing.
