Donation Update!

A $60.00 donation was provided directly to Love Care Orphanage from Saved by the Gospel, and our Point of Contact, Edward, sent me pictures of the food purchased for the kids!

Did you know that $20.00 USD is equivalent to 2,240.60 Kenyan Shillings? If you look at the receipt, you can see how that could make a big difference.

Both of our partners are facing difficult and desperate times in Kenya. Along with the pandemic impacting the ability for people to work and provide for their families, the yearlong civil war in Ethiopia's Tigray region escalates, causing Kenya and South Sudan to be on high alert.

Carrying the weight that these orphanages do is heavier than we could imagine. The obstacles they face on a daily basis just to survive are beyond the obstacles most of us face. Please find it in your heart to help Love Care Orphanage and Grace View Orphanage in any way you can.

Currently, with 2 partners, 90% of all donations go towards meeting the regular needs of both orphanages (50/50). 10% will go towards developing Saved by the Gospel and solidifying our organization in an effort to reach more people. Both orphanages have agreed to participate in a transparent partnership of ensuring donations are used for the needs described by providing receipts, images, etc. after purchases are made using donation money. What an amazing day!
Ruth, our Point of Contact at Grace View Orphanage, was able to go to the market on Thursday and get more food and drinks for the kids! We donated $60, and as a transparent measure of our partnership, we were provided with pictures that show how a single donation can go a long way! How exciting!!!

Saved by the Gospel was created with the ultimate goal of mirroring the early church (Acts 2) in terms of meeting the needs of others and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. When this was first put together a few weeks ago, I had no idea where God would take this idea, but I did know that the intentions were to bring Him glory while serving others.

A little under a week ago, I met a young woman named Ruth who lives in a small city in Kenya. She and a few others have been working at different jobs to help support a local orphanage that not only feeds and shelters 38 children but also works difficult hours to provide the 18 kids who are old enough, an education.

She expressed to me that she and other people helping at the orphanage have not been able to work as much because of the impacts of COVID-19, and the orphanage has taken a major hit as a result. She provided me with a list of their monthly bills and indicated many areas of struggle.

I then recognized the amazing opportunity that God has presented and offered to partner with the orphanage in an effort to find people who want to support a genuine organization that desires to help meet the needs of others.

We are filled with joy to announce that we have partnered with Graceview Children's Center located in Kisii, Kenya. I will be putting together a page for the children's center and have put together a PayPal account that will soon collect donations to mainly support the orphanage, but a small percentage of donations will be taken to grow our organization in order to develop new ways to reach more people (exciting plans, stay tuned). More details on how you can securely provide support are coming soon.

Please keep Graceview Children's Center in your prayers. They are enduring some tough trials and really need our help. I am planning on having the donation platform available tomorrow.
