From Brian:
Restoration Church. I cannot begin to describe what those two words have meant to me and my family. When I thought of the name for this church 10 years ago, I had no idea how much I was going to need my own restoration when it planted. But alas, God knows what we need and when we need it and for how long we're going to need it for.
Over the last year, my wife's Rheumatoid has become increasingly more severe. Last October we caught a glimpse of what life could look like if she had no pain. We went to a conference in Southern California, and much to our surprise, she had no pain. In the weeks that followed, I couldn't rationalize keeping our family in Michigan if there was a place where she could be without pain. So we decided to leave Michigan, and head for the coast.
We're unsure on the timing of the move, but know it will be soon. In late January, some conversations started happening with a couple churches in the area we need to be in.
Oddly enough, a couple of weeks ago we received an e-mail from ownership at the brewery asking if we could find a place to move to, as the brewery was going to need all the space we were taking up.
Restoration Church's last service will be March 12th, 10:30am at Right Brain Brewery. We'll have a time of celebration of all that God has done over these last 2 plus years.
We've been having some discussions with Bayview Church in Traverse City about next steps. They have agreed to help Restoration in this transition time to make sure people have a place to land. We strongly encourage anyone in the area to head over there starting March 19th.
Restoration Church's vision has been People Following Jesus from the beginning. His steady hand continues to guide us as we continue following and pursuing His calling. It has been my great pleasure to be called your pastor, friend, and brother in Christ. Thank you for taking risks and growing with us. May you continue following Jesus.
