Last night my wife and I went to see the movie “Disclosure Day”. Without dropping any spoilers, this movie 🎦 or at least ones like it always cause me to ponder on the reality of aliens 👽 and how that relates to my faith. Here’s how I think it does.

Monday night’s flash flooding hit my basement, or at least hit my daughter’s window 🪟 and room very hard 😱

Nevertheless the cleanup wasn’t as damaging as last month when our sump pump failed because of some preventative measure I took after the storm. No matter how much you prepare, moments like this are frustrating and unpredictable.

Some seasons of life are overwhelming, and this is when you learn to hold fast to your foundation. Mines is my faith in God. It’s never failed ❤️ ✝️

We’ve been taught love & loyalty means never leaving. But sometimes staying only empowers harm. Walking away isn’t cruel, it’s protection. Doesn’t mean you’re a quitter, nor does it mean you’re a failure. TBH is wisdom.

Jesus shows us that walking away isn’t avoiding accountability or responsibility. He just refused to enable hardened hearts. Walking away says:

I won’t argue with denial.
I won’t negotiate with manipulation.
I won’t let loyalty hinder my obedience to God 🚶🏾‍♂️

If you’re looking 👀 to go deeper in your faith, this is a book you must read. It will challenge and/or deconstruct a lot of what you’ve been taught, build ultimately it built my faith even stronger.

This year in August, I will have been in the preaching ministry as a licensed minister for 24 years. From the age of 11 until now I have been in the gospel ministry for over half my life.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to speak at some incredible churches and events all across the country for Christ sake.

As a kid, all I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a preacher/pastor. I was called for this vocation and I will never forsake it.

When I am a guest speaker, my wife is oftentimes asks to introduce me. Every time she always gives kind and gracious words so that the audience knows my heart.

Recently, our kid filmed her doing it on their tablet and I thought I’d share. As my wife she has seen both the best and worst parts of me. One thing she has always done is hold me accountable to the calling on my life and family.

She also has seen my vulnerability and how people that I’ve done right by have hurt me and despite her feelings about it, she has always encouraged me to continue to show grace.

Christians use the virtuous woman title so lightly. But I mean it when I tell you she truly defines the Proverbs 31 woman. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Proverbs 31: 10-12, 23, 28
Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.

Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.

Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
