🌿 BACK-TO-SCHOOL SURVIVAL SERIES
❤️ Lessons from My Mama
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! 😂❤️
A Look Back at Four Weeks of Mama’s Lessons
Well, we got a little off track with our Sunday post… but you know what?
Better late than never! ❤️
And as I was thinking about what to share today, I realized something…
We’ve been doing this for FOUR WEEKS!
Four weeks of sharing lessons, memories, recipes, routines, encouragement, and a whole lot of Mama wisdom.
But this series became so much more than just me sharing what "my" mama taught me.
You started sharing what YOUR mamas taught you, too. ❤️
And I want to take a moment to say
THANK YOU
to everyone who participated, commented, shared a memory, or simply followed along.
I have truly enjoyed reading your comments and hearing about the little lessons that stayed with you through the years.
And yes… I’ve been writing some of them down! 😂
Because y’all know me…
🌿 We’re collecting Mama’s memories!
One comment in particular made me smile.
Someone shared that after making their bed, they would put their pajamas underneath their pillow so they would already be there for bedtime.
Well, guess what?
I started doing it!*
😂❤️
Something so simple, but what a great little idea!
And that’s what I’ve loved about these four weeks. We started with Mama’s lessons, but along the way, we started learning from each other.
We’ve talked about:
🌿 Preparing ahead instead of waiting until the last minute
🍳 Stretching meals and making the most of what we have
❤️ Making time for family—and remembering that parents need time for themselves, too
🌙 Creating bedtime routines
🥔 Giving leftovers a second life instead of wasting food
👂 Listening to our children and being there when they need us
🙏 Keeping God in the middle of our busy lives
📝 And Mama’s reminder: “Stay ready so you won’t have to get ready.”
But when I look back over these four weeks, I realize Mama wasn't just teaching us how to get through a busy school week.
She was teaching us how to live.
How to prepare.
How to be good stewards.
How to love our families.
How to listen.
How to work.
How to rest.
How to help one another.
How to have faith.
And how to make a little go a long way.
And honestly, revisiting Mama’s lessons has helped me, too. ❤️
So thank you for taking this journey with me.
Thank you for letting me share a little piece of my Mama with you—and thank you for sharing pieces of yours with me.
Because sometimes the simplest lessons are the ones we carry for a lifetime.
🙏 Lord, thank You for the wisdom passed down through the generations. Help us remember those lessons, live them out, and pass them on to the generations coming behind us. Amen.
And before we close out this four-week journey, I want to ask one more time:
What is one little thing your mama, grandma, or someone who loved you taught you that you still do today? ❤️
You never know who might need that little piece of wisdom.
