II Corinthians 6:14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

During these busy summer months, it’s easy to lead a life as much like the world as possible, but apparently without denying the Christian faith. Those who fall into this leading will never become a blessing to those around them.
Romans 2:12 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
The greatest hindrance to the growth of the church of God is always worldly minding Christian’s. A mind set on earthly things, worldly interests and amusement are poison plants that destroy the harvest in the kingdom of God.
Let us set our guard against anything that can tear us from our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris. “Lead on O King eternal.”

Be Steady In the Lord,

Zephaniah 2:3
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger.

In May, Mother’s Day brings fond memories. I remember leaning against her arm in God’s House. My mom has passed some years ago, but will always be fresh in memory which is also a special day in May. As we grow older more special people are now memories. I look forward to a great reunion. But for that to happen I must “Seek the Lord”. It is the good way to be the humble of the land and do what He commands. It’s simple – “Seek righteousness, seek humility” and you will be sheltered.
Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.”
I Peter 3:4 “But let it be the hidden person of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

Luke 20:34-36
Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.

For now, we have this life. We see the things of this life. Jesus came from heaven so He could tell us of heavenly things. It’s good to know of the hope of the things of those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age.
This portion of Scripture tells us of the resurrection from the dead. As we go on in Jesus answer to the Sadducee's, who were leaders of Israel at that time, we find that Moses also (v. 37) showed that the dead rise, for Moses calls the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. v.38 – “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.”
Easter holds great promises to us who are counted worthy. Christ arose with body and soul. The part where Jesus said, “for to Him all are alive.” Gives the Christians the assurance of life eternal. Rest in peace the Lord lives and is still on the throne to give to His own eternal life.

Psalms 33:1-5
Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous, it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

During the Lenten season the people of God again “Shout for joy in the Lord.” The Lord loves riotousness. But our thoughts, actions, and attitudes are too often very unrighteous. When we come to Him in prayer, we acknowledge this. We ask for forgiveness. We ask that He continue His transforming work in our hearts.
We already know the answer we will receive – “forgiven!” That answer quells our fears and makes it possible for us to come before over righteous, majestic King “shouting for joy” in the first place.
May the Lord bring special blessings to one and all now and always.
