Good afternoon, everyone.

Today, as we commemorate Be’ata LeMariam, we will hold a one hour spiritual conference with Mezmur and a 30 minute sermon in English. As planned, we will alternate between English and Amharic each month.

I will send out the Zoom link soon.

Have a blessed day.

A little update 🤍

Over the past few days, we’ve loved sharing the voices, hopes, and joy of our parish with you. Seeing even our little ones following along has made this series that much more special.

For now, we’re pausing our “Interviewing Our Parish” series as we take some of our next steps offline.

Thank you to everyone who has watched, shared, commented, prayed, and helped bring more attention to our parish and our hope for a permanent church home in NYC.

The series may be on pause, but the mission continues. We’ll share more when the time comes, God willing. If you have any ideas or connections that may help us find a permanent place of worship, please DM us and let us know 🙏🏾

Above all, please keep us in your prayers, as we will keep you in ours. 🤍

Finale: One more voice from Beata Le Mariam 🤍

When asked what he would ask Mayor Mamdani for, our father’s answer was simple: a better, permanent church home for our parish.

A place where our community can worship, grow, and continue serving generations to come.

We pray that, God willing, the right doors will open for Beata Le Mariam.

Day 10 of interviewing our parish until Mayor Mamdani comes to visit ⛪️💛

Today, Welde shares something many in our parish feel deeply: without a permanent church building, it can feel like we’re always searching for a place to call home.

Having our own space to worship, gather, and grow as a community would mean so much to us.

Mayor Mamdani, we’d be grateful for the opportunity to share more about our parish’s history and what a permanent home would mean for our community.

Until then, we’ll keep interviewing 👀

Day 9 ⛪️💛

Today, Deacon Iyasu is interviewed by his friend.

His requests for Mayor Mamdani? A bigger church, more funding… and apparently, for the Mayor to become a deacon 😭

Iyasu came prepared with a full agenda.

Mayor Mamdani and our fellow New Yorkers, we know you can’t promise alll of these requests, but we’d still love for you all to visit.

Until then, we’ll keep interviewing 👀
FYI donate to Beata using the Zeffy link in our bio. God bless you all 🙏🏾

Day 8 - The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is one of Christianity’s ancient churches, with roots in 4th century Ethiopia. Its centuries old Christian tradition is expressed through the Divine Liturgy, seven sacraments, extensive seasons of prayer and fasting, fourteen anaphoras, and worship rooted in Geʿez, Ethiopia’s ancient liturgical language. Its tradition of hymns, chant, iconography, monasticism, and literature has been passed down through generations and remains a living part of the Church today.
We hope fellow New Yorkers (including Mayor Mamdani) get the chance to experience it firsthand. Our doors are always open.
Until then, we’ll keep interviewing 👀
