As she was cleaning out her Sunday-best pocketbook (she wants to carry it at the festivities this weekend), a Cemetery Lady found a program of the 1968 Firemen's Fair in Prairieton, Indiana. She remembers the fair fondly and will have copies of the program available at the PVFD Independence Day celebration on July 6th after the parade. If you would like a copy, the Cemetery Ladies ask for a free-will donation to help with the upkeep of the Prairieton Cemetery.

As participants in the Prairieton community celebrations on July 6th, the Cemetery Ladies will designate the gravesites of the 14 Prairieton Volunteer Firemen who are buried in Prairieton Cemetery. The firemen are: Austin Manhart, Joe Francis, Gene Gruenholz, Claude Simmons, Herman Morgan, Robert L. Francis, Mike Ryan, George Smith Sr., Ralph Smith, Herman McPheeters, John Phelps, Clayton Anders, Bill Ewing, and Dolph Mays. Please stop by the cemetery and pay your respects.
Plus, meet the Cemetery Ladies as they join in the fun of the Independence Day Parade at 10:00am at Prairieton UMC.

Thanks to everyone who helped place flags on veterans' graves today! Girl Scout Troop 1388 placed a lot of flags in the oldest area. They (with the help of parents) persevered and now can be proud of what they accomplished. Take a drive through and see the decorations in all the areas. Extra flags are available by the Soldiers' Monument in case we missed your veteran.
