Advent focuses our hearts and minds on the generosity of our King, who left the riches of heaven in order to take on flesh and rescue his people. In response, we’re invited to generosity as well. There are three simple ways you can respond over the coming days:

1. Partner with our friends at Kids of Growth by buying gifts for the Amazon wishlist that they’ve put together to provide Christmas for Westside families. Follow the link in our profile - and also please note the instructions about purchasing and shipping that are available at http://signalpres.org/advent.

2. Sign up to help set up the Hope for the Inner City Christmas Store this Saturday, December 3rd from 9 am to noon. This store helps provide discounted Christmas presents for families in the Avondale neighborhood of Chattanooga. Sign up information available at the Signal Pres Advent link in our profile.

3. Make plans to join us for Carpool Christmas Caroling this Sunday, December 4th. We’re meeting in the sanctuary parking lot at 3 PM to head out to sing carols to our some Signal Pres members who could appreciate a little extra Christmas cheer. Come with your own group (community group, D group, etc.) or just show up and we’ll include you with some others!

As the calendar turns the page and we enter into Advent, you may find yourself trying to scratch the surface of the meaning of what exactly is going on. You’re familiar with the stories of Joseph, Mary and Jesus, but a part of you still wonders… Why did Jesus have to come and what does it all mean? In this most recent edition of the Amateur Theologians Club, we’ll take a look at what the 4th-century pastor Athanasius had to say about all of this. In his little book (we’ll be reading about 60 pages together) he breaks it all down for us and shows us the wonder and beauty of the Incarnation. Signal Pres Staff has had a fun day celebrating!

Started at staff meeting celebrating our dear colleague and friend ! We are deeply grateful for her 15 years of ministry at Signal Pres and send her off with joy to her new position at !

The first time Trish came to Signal Pres it was to drop her 2 year old daughter off for PDS. So it was only appropriate that she left the same way - she and Ella walked out the PDS doors together hand in hand.

Following lunch we celebrated the birthdays of two very special people - Liz Collins & Lincoln Rus - with the best Strawberry Cream Cake Signal Mountain has to offer! 🍰

We love these people and are thankful for the life God has given each one!

Today, the Signal Pres staff celebrated and honored our administrative assistant, Barbara Hailey for being a part of the staff for 25 wonderful years. Barbara has been the most diligent, dedicated, and sincere asset for Signal Pres. Her contributions to the congregation are greatly appreciated. Happy work anniversary to the delightful Barbara Hailey!

Hey Signal Pres, check out our amazing Caring Presence Ministry! This is a ministry for those in our congregation 65+. In May they celebrated and honored our mothers on Mother’s Day with delicious, fresh strawberries! This past Sunday, on Father's Day, they celebrated our fantastic dad's by delivering root beer and candied pecans. What a great idea! We love Caring Presence and the impact they are making in the 65+ community and the whole body of the Church!

VBS 2022 is in the books! Nine families from different neighborhoods said YES to hosting small groups of neighbors and friends--old and new--for crafts, music, snacks, Jesus-centered teaching, and FUN! By dividing 230 people amongst our 9 host homes, we were able to create small and comfortable outdoor environments to share biblical truths, form relationships, and help our kids develop an everyday faith for themselves.

Join us as we continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to work in these kids' hearts and to grow their faith in Jesus. And we'll see you next summer for another epic week of VBS!

Congregational care comes in many forms - classes, support groups, counseling, prayer, mercy ministry, and much more - and through lay church members, trained professionals, and pastors alike. But no matter the shape it takes, the gift of congregational care is in ensuring that all people know they are seen, they matter, and they belong.

Your giving makes such tender and transformative ministry possible.

One way this plays out is through the Good Samaritan Fund, which provides mercy ministry resources to members of Signal Pres. This year alone, we will give at least $50,000 to things like helping cover a medical bill, providing counseling to a couple in crisis, financially supporting a family experiencing job loss, and so much more.
