“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:3

Okay familia… let’s talk about this one porque “poor in spirit” sounds kinda depressing if nobody ever explains it. 😂

Like… what does Jesus mean?

¿Que tenemos que andar por la vida diciendo:

“Yo no valgo nada… I’m terrible… pobre de mí…”?

Nah, hombre. 😂

That’s not what He’s saying.

Jesus isn’t teaching low self-esteem.

He’s not saying you have to think less of yourself.

And He’s not simply talking about being broke either.

He’s talking about realizing something that is really hard for us humanos to admit:

When it comes to God… we got nothing to flex.

Nada.

You can’t pull up con tu spiritual résumé like:

“Okay Lord, check this out…

I go to church.

I help people.

I read my Bible.

I don’t even cuss that much anymore…”

Bueno… unless somebody cuts you off on the freeway. 😭😂

“And Lord, let’s be real… I’m definitely better than that dude over there.”

And that right there is exactly the problem.

Because being poor in spirit means understanding:

“Lord, I can’t earn Your favor.
I can’t buy Your grace.
I can’t work my way into Your Kingdom.
I have nothing I can put in front of You and say, ‘You owe me.’”

You come with empty hands.

And aquí viene lo hermoso.

Jesus doesn’t say:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit because if they work hard enough, one day maybe they’ll get the Kingdom.”

Nope.

He says:

“For theirs IS the kingdom of heaven.”

It’s theirs.

Think about that.

The person who realizes,

“I can’t earn this…”

is finally ready to receive it.

Jesus even told a story about two men who went to pray.

One basically showed up like:

“God, thank You that I’m doing everything right. Look at me.”

The other guy wouldn’t even look up.

He just said:

“God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”

And Jesus said THAT man went home justified.

Why?

Because he knew exactly where he stood.

He wasn’t trusting in himself.

He was trusting in mercy.

That’s poor in spirit.

It doesn’t mean:

“I’m worthless.”

It means:

“Everything good I have comes from You.”

And once you understand that, something crazy happens.

You can actually say:

I’m poor in myself…
pero I’m rich in Christ.

Not because I’m impressive.

Not because I had a good spiritual week.

Not because I finally got my life together.

But because He gives me what I could never earn.

So yes…

Panza llena, corazón contento…
pero keep those hands empty cuando se trata de grace. 😂❤️

Because you don’t earn grace.

You receive it.

Y’all know THAT fool.

Buys something…

Throws the instructions away.

👉 “Bro… I got this.”

😎

Three hours later…

😭

“Why I got seven extra screws??”

BRO.

Read the instructions.

😂

Crazy thing is…

King Saul did the SAME thing.

God gave him clear instructions…

Saul said…

👉 “I got a better idea.”

💀

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… sometimes the problem ain’t the instructions…

it’s us.”

📖❤️

👇 What’s the LAST thing you put together without reading the instructions?

😂 Ayyyy compas…

Let’s settle this one… 👀

🚫 No Google.

🚫 No asking your Tía.

🚫 No scrolling to the comments first.

😭😂

📖 Question:

Did Jesus turn water into wine at The Last Supper… or somewhere else?

👇 Drop your answer below.

Tomorrow we’ll open the Bible together and see what it actually says.

❤️ No shame.

❤️ No trick questions.

❤️ Just compas opening God’s Word together.

📖 Panza Llena Challenge:

Don’t guess… check the Bible. 🙏

06/25/2026

👉 “God will never put more on you than you can bear.”

Sounds nice.

Sounds comforting.

Sounds like something Grandma embroidered on a pillow.

😂

BRO…

That’s not actually what the Bible says.

👀

Let’s be honest…

Have you ever had a season where you felt like:

👉 “I can’t do this anymore.”

😭

Bills.

Family drama.

Health issues.

Work.

The kids.

The in-laws.

The DMV.

💀

You’re over here barely hanging on…

Then somebody tells you:

👉 “God will never put more on you than you can bear.”

And you’re like:

👉 “Bro… then why am I crying in the Target parking lot?”

😭😭😭

Here’s the crazy part…

The Apostle Paul literally said there was a time…

where he was burdened BEYOND what he could handle.

👀

Wait…

WHAT??

Yup.

📖 2 Corinthians 1

Paul says he was under so much pressure…

he DESPAIRED OF LIFE.

Why?

So he would stop depending on himself…

and start depending on God.

❤️

BRO.

That’s WAY different.

Sometimes life IS too heavy.

😭

And maybe…

that’s exactly when we finally learn…

we were never supposed to carry it alone.

👀

🔥 Real Talk Compas:

God never asked you to be strong enough…

He asked you to trust the One who is.

❤️

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… Jesus didn’t say, ‘Carry everything by yourself.’”

😂

👉 He said…

“Come to Me.”

👇 Be honest compas…

What’s something you tried carrying by yourself…

until you finally gave it to God?

👇 Let’s talk.

🚨Panza Llena Theater🚨

🎬 “That One Compa Who NEVER Asks For Directions 😭”

Ayyyy compas…

Y’all know THAT dude.

😭

Phone battery dead.

GPS ain’t working.

Completely lost.

💀

But instead of asking somebody…

He says:

👉 “Nah bro… I got it.”

😎

Thirty minutes later…

Still driving.

😭

One hour later…

Now you’re in Hemet for some reason.

💀

The wife finally says:

👉 “Why don’t you just ask somebody??”

His answer?

👉 “We’re almost there.”

😭😭😭

BRO.

You ain’t almost nowhere.

😂

Sometimes…

our pride costs us HOURS.

👀

And then…

it hit me.

BRO…

There was somebody in the Bible EXACTLY like that.

😭

📖 Naaman.

The prophet told him:

👉 “Go dip in the river seven times.”

Naaman’s first reaction?

👉 “Nah.”

😒

“My rivers are better.”

“That don’t make sense.”

“I’m not doing that.”

💀

Imagine his servants…

looking at each other like:

👉 “Bro… just get in the water.”

😭

And after arguing…

guess what?

He finally listens.

🌊

And God heals him.

❤️

Real Talk Compas…

How many blessings have we delayed…

because our pride kept saying:

👉 “I know better.”

👀

Sometimes the miracle isn’t waiting on God…

Sometimes…

God’s waiting on US.

😭

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… asking for directions ain’t gonna kill you.”

😂

👉 Pride might.

👇 Be honest compas…

What’s something you should’ve listened to the FIRST time…

instead of learning the hard way?

😭👇

Let’s hear it.

06/23/2026

Who’s heard THIS one before? 😂

👉 “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”

🧹✨

BRO…

Raise your hand if your mamá ever hit you with that one.

😭✋

You’re sitting there watching TV…

Mamá walks in:

👉 “Mijo… pick up this cochinero.”

You say:

👉 “I’ll do it later.”

She hits you with:

👉 “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”

💀😭

AND SOMEHOW…

It sounded like it came straight from Moses.

😂

BRO…

That ain’t in the Bible.

👀

Not Genesis.

Not Psalms.

Not Proverbs.

Not even in the maps.

😭

Now HOLD UP…

Before somebody says:

👉 “So I don’t gotta clean my room?”

😂

Nah compa.

Go clean your room.

Your mamá still right.

😭

Being clean is a GOOD thing.

The Bible talks about being orderly…

working hard…

taking care of what God gives us.

🔥

But…

The phrase:

👉 “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”

👀

Never appears anywhere in Scripture.

Real Talk Compas…

Sometimes we’ve heard sayings for so many years…

we accidentally think they’re Bible verses.

😭

That’s why it’s always good to ask:

👉 “Where does the Bible ACTUALLY say that?”

👀🔥

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… your mamá wasn’t quoting the Apostle Paul…”

😂

👉 She was quoting…

Mamá.

😭❤️

👇 Be honest compas…

How many of y’all thought that was REALLY in the Bible?

😂👇

No shame…

I thought it was too.

06/22/2026

🚨Panza Llena Theater Is BACK!!🚨

🎬 “That One Compa Who Swears He Knows The Shortcut 😭”

Ayyyy compas…

You ever ride with THAT fool?

😭

You know exactly who I’m talking about.

👉 “Bro… don’t worry.”

👉 “I know a faster way.”

😎

So you trust him.

Five minutes later…

🚧 Road closed.

Ten minutes later…

🚜 Dirt road.

Fifteen minutes later…

🐄 You’re behind a cow.

😭💀

Now your GPS looks confused.

YOUR WIFE looking at you like:

👉 “I thought he knew where he was going.”

👀

And your compa still got the audacity to say:

👉 “Nah bro… trust me.”

😭

BRO.

At this point we’re driving through somebody’s rancho.

💀

You know what’s funny?

Some of us treat life exactly like that.

👀

We keep telling God:

👉 “I got this.”

👉 “I know where I’m going.”

👉 “Trust me.”

😎

Meanwhile…

We’re completely lost.

😭

Crazy thing is…

There was a dude in the Bible exactly like that.

📖 Jonah.

God told him:

👉 “Go to Nineveh.”

Jonah said:

👉 “Nah…

I got a better idea.”

😎

BRO BOUGHT A BOAT…

AND WENT THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

😭😭😭

How’d that work out?

🌊

🐟

💀

Imagine explaining THAT story.

👉 “Bro… why you smell like pescado?”

😭

Real Talk Compas…

How many headaches would’ve been avoided…

if we would’ve just listened to God the FIRST time?

👀

Because every detour ain’t the devil.

Sometimes…

it’s us thinking we know better.

😭

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… stop arguing with the GPS if God already gave you the directions.”

😂

👇 Be honest…

What’s the biggest DETOUR you’ve ever taken because you thought you knew better?

👇 We all got one.

😭🍿

06/12/2026

🚨Ayyyy Compas…🚨

Let’s talk about one that the raza LOVES to use.

😭

👉 “ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME.”

BRO.

💀

People say this after doing the craziest stuff too.

😭

👉 Gets caught cheating.

“Only God can judge me.”

👉 Owes everybody money.

“Only God can judge me.”

👉 Starts drama at the family party.

“Only God can judge me.”

💀😭

Ayyyy compa…

Hold up.

You’re actually half right.

👀

Because yes…

God IS the ultimate Judge.

🔥

But here’s the part nobody talks about.

The Bible doesn’t teach:

👉 “Nobody can ever tell me I’m wrong.”

BRO…

If that was true…

Jesus would’ve never corrected anybody.

😭

Paul would’ve never corrected anybody.

😭

Peter would’ve never corrected anybody.

😭

Half the New Testament would’ve been:

👉 “Do whatever you want, homie.”

💀

The problem isn’t correction.

The problem is hypocrisy.

👀

Jesus didn’t say:

👉 “Never judge.”

He basically said:

👉 “Take the giant log outta YOUR eye first.”

😭

Because let’s be honest compas…

Some people got a whole tree sticking out their eyeball…

🌳👁️

And they’re over here inspecting everybody else’s life.

💀

No manches.

Real Talk Compas…

The goal isn’t walking around judging everybody.

The goal is walking in humility.

❤️

Because all of us got stuff we’re working through.

ALL OF US.

😭

And if somebody loves you enough to tell you the truth…

that’s not always judgment.

👀

Sometimes that’s love.

🔥

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… don’t use ‘Only God Can Judge Me’ like a spiritual Get Out Of Jail Free card.”

😭

And before you start checking everybody else…

check your own backyard first.

🏡😂

👇 Be honest compas…

What’s a Bible verse people use completely out of context all the time?

👇 Let’s hear it.

06/11/2026

🚨Ayyyy Compas…🚨

Let’s talk about one we’ve ALL heard.

😭

👉 “If God closes a door, He opens a window.”

Sounds deep.

Sounds spiritual.

Sounds like something your Tía posts on Facebook with glitter graphics.

😭💀

But compa…

that’s not in the Bible.

👀

Matter fact…

if somebody starts climbing through my window…

I’m calling the cops.

🚔😭

Real talk…

Sometimes God closes a door.

And then…

👀

Nothing.

No window.

No skylight.

No secret tunnel.

Just waiting.

😭

BRO.

Nobody likes the waiting.

We want:

👉 Door closes Monday.

👉 New blessing Tuesday.

👉 Promotion Wednesday.

👉 New truck Thursday.

👉 Vacation Friday.

😭

But God be like:

👉 “Sit down mijo… we’re not done yet.”

💀

The part nobody talks about is:

Sometimes God closes a door because He’s teaching us to trust Him…

not because He’s immediately opening another one.

👀

Look at Israel.

Out of Egypt.

🎉

Then straight into the wilderness.

🏜️😭

Imagine being one of them.

👉 “Okay Lord… where’s the next door?”

God:

👉 “You’re gonna walk in circles for a minute.”

💀

No manches.

Real Talk Compas…

Some of us are frustrated because we’re staring at a closed door…

when God is trying to do something inside of us.

❤️

The waiting ain’t punishment.

Sometimes it’s preparation.

🔥

And yeah…

I know.

😭

Nobody likes hearing that.

🔥 Barrio Translation:

“Mijo… every time a door closes don’t start looking for windows.”

😂

👉 Sometimes God wants you to sit tight and trust Him.

👇 Be honest compas…

What’s the longest you’ve ever had to wait on God for something?

👇 Let’s hear it
