HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY OVERCOME!

January 2019 the Lord told our founder that she was to start a platform of unmasked vulnerability for people to truly gain freedom resiliently through community. This was to be done through video and written testimonies shared via online / social media. Many months of conversations and prayer later, January 24, 2020 Overcome Unmasked was born!

In a year of fear and trembling in 2020 we hosted bi-monthly worship nights, serve projects in communities that were in need through To The Streetz, and stories were being shared.

This platform has always been under attack due to the foundation of what it stands for. People truly coming to KNOW the healing and delivering power of Jesus Christ!

2025 will be the year of completion! Share YOUR story because someone somewhere needs your vulnerability to set them free from the bo***ge the enemy is attempting to place on them and the lies saying “you’re the only one going through that!”

Today, we celebrate not just what you do, Genesys, but WHO you are - to those you encounter, to the lives that you significantly and infinitely impact, to the legacy you leave behind when simply exiting a room, and to the souls that have encapsulated stories that are finally being spoken in light after being shackled by darkness for far too long, because of your obedience to God to create a safe space for those souls and those stories to not simply be listened to, but to be HEARD.

Today, we celebrate not just your life and the gift that it is to this world, but the gift that your life is to the kingdom of God. The gates of hell tremble, rattle, and shake the moment you arise each morning and every second after with fear and terror, because of the DANGER you are to its mission.

We’ve gained some new followers so let’s reintroduce this ministry, shall we?

In January of 2019 through the Daniel fast, God gave a vision to our founder of a platform for people to speak freely about the things they have either struggled with or a safe place to vulnerably share their testimony of what they’ve been through. In turn, this gives a face, to a name, to a story of someone who has overcome the same things you’re struggling with to provide community to rally behind you.

Through a LOT of prayer + amazing friends and support, Overcome officially launched January 24, 2020.

How does it work?
If God has placed a burden on your heart to share your testimony, or a word of encouragement, all you do is DM or submit a video on our website [overcomeunmasked.org] to share and someone from our team will reach out to you!

Meet the founder of !

Refuge for the Broken is a platform to raise awareness for domestic abuse violence and a community of refuge FOR survivors! It is dedicated to raise awareness, provide education, and support those affected by domestic violence.

They believe that one of the roles of the church is to serve as a safe place for those who are hurting to find refuge and healing!

A testimony on contentment:

“When I left for a year long mission trip I sold my clothes, my car and left a great job. You know, at the time I was so passionate about the mission trip those things felt good to let go of.

When I was on the mission trip the refinement began to feel unbearable. I would cry to God dailyyyy why did I give up everything for this. Discontentment lead to hiding sin and outbursts of emotions. I felt angry at God yet all around me I was experiencing miracles. Healings. Salvations.
While Feeling emotionally discouraged , His LOVE flooded me, His compassion lead me to repentance and a closeness was built throughout the trip yet there was a lack of satisfaction I continued to walk through.

When I returned home, inevitably the Lord blessed me once again with a beautiful place to live, transportation and back in my career.

I sat in my apartment one morning, thanking God for bringing me back to what I felt like I missed while on the trip but it wasn’t the things I missed. He said something very clear to me. It was contentment that I wrongly placed. He showed me the lessons that taught me what pure spiritual satisfaction in HIM is.

1 Tim 6:7-9 Paul talks about being content with what we have. That godliness WITH contentment is a great gain.

He was teaching me and helping me understand a rooted contentment that relects in my life only through Him.

In my life these moments have shown Contentment in the spirit is a reflection of your peace and faith in the Lord.

As I navigated this season of understanding contentment I’m grateful I can share my not so pretty story to encourage others to resist placing your peace and comfort in the things God blesses us with, place your inward satisfaction truly in Him.”

Prince of Peace we come to you today thankful for what you have done in our lives. We want to enter your courts with thanksgiving. You have been so so good to us, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus down on the cross to die for us. Thank you for Your presence. God I pray right now for peace. It is hard for us to not worry so God I pray that You will help us right now in the name of Jesus. We invite you into our worry and we give up control. We know that You take care of the birds and the flowers, and You love us so much more than them, so I pray that You will help us realize that You have everything under control. The situation may not seem like it, but God You are still on the throne, You are are still working things out for our good. I pray that You will give us a peace that surpasses our current situation, and surpasses our worry. Holy Spirit You are the Helper so we are here before You boldly asking for more help in our situation. We can’t do this alone, we truly need You. Thank You in advance for turning our situation for good, thank You in advance for blessing us with Your peace, and thank You I’m advance for helping us through every area of our lives. We love You so much, and we pray these things in Jesus name, amen!
