The Four Advent Candles
As a Christian tradition, the wreath holds the four Advent candles. The candles represent Jesus coming as the light in darkness. One candle is lit each Sunday until all four candles are lit. As Christmas draws nearer, each candle brings a little more light into the darkness. Sometimes a white candle is lit on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to symbolize that Jesus is with us. This can be referred to as the "Christ candle."

Save the date! 100+ years and going strong! The MT. Zion UMC All Day Meeting will again be at Buck Sharpless’ Place. Worship Service is at 10:30AM, Lunch will follow the service. Fun in the afternoon with waterslide for children, hayrides for all, music by Ricky Murphy and Team, Icecream later in the afternoon. Tell you friends, All are invited!! Just bring a lawn chair.

We have been gathering here on this mountain for over 100+ years. Save the date! Sunday, August 20th. It’s always the 3rd Sunday in August (rain or shine). It is “The MT.Zion All Day Meeting” also known as “Children’s Day” and “Sharpless Reunion” over the many years. The morning Worship Service begins at 10:30am. Lunch under the Pavillon will be served following the service. Water slide, sporting events, hay rides and fun for all. Live Music for all following lunch and Hershey Ice-cream (ofcoarse) in the afternoon. The event is free as always. All you need to bring is a lawn chair. Location: Buck’s Place
