Hail, Holy Queen,
Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this, our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen.

🔥 May 13, 1917 — The First Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima ✝️🇻🇦

On May 13, 1917, three humble shepherd children — Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco Marto, and Jacinta Marto — were tending their sheep at Cova da Iria near Fátima when Heaven touched the earth in a remarkable way.

Suddenly, they saw a bright flash of light across the sky. Thinking it was lightning, they prepared to return home. But then, above a small holm oak tree, appeared a radiant Lady clothed in white, shining more brilliantly than the sun. In her hands was a Rosary of pure white beads, and her presence filled the children with awe and peace.

Our Lady’s Message at the First Apparition

1. “Do Not Be Afraid”

The Blessed Virgin gently spoke to the children:

> “Do not be afraid. I will not harm you.”

Her words brought comfort to their hearts and revealed that Heaven comes not with fear, but with peace, mercy, and love.

2. Heaven Is Real
When the children asked where she came from, the Lady replied:

> “I am from Heaven.”

She assured Jacinta and Francisco that they would soon go to Heaven, while Lucia would remain longer on earth because Jesus desired to use her to spread devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary throughout the world.

3. A Call to Sacrifice and Conversion

Our Lady asked the children:

> “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God, to bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, in reparation for sins and for the conversion of sinners?”

With courage and simplicity, the children answered:

> “Yes, we are willing.”

Then Our Lady lovingly told them:

> “You will have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your strength and consolation.”

Through this message, Heaven reminded the world that sacrifices offered with love can help bring sinners back to God.

4. Pray the Rosary Every Day

One of the most important requests of Our Lady was this:

> “Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war.”

At that time, the world was suffering through the horrors of World War I. Our Lady revealed that prayer — especially the Rosary — is a powerful weapon for peace, conversion, and protection.

5. A Vision Filled With Divine Grace

As Our Lady opened her hands, rays of heavenly light poured upon the children and penetrated their souls. Lucia later described how deeply they were moved by God’s presence, causing them to fall to their knees in silent prayer and adoration.

It was a moment of grace that transformed their lives forever.

Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary and Mother of Mercy,
at Fatima you revealed to the three shepherd children the treasures of grace hidden within the Holy Rosary.

Fill our hearts with a deep love for this sacred devotion, that by meditating upon the mysteries of our Redemption, we may obtain peace for the world, the conversion of sinners, and the graces we humbly seek today.

[Mention your intention here]

Our Lady of Fatima, Refuge of Sinners, pray for us. Our Lady of the Rosary, teach us to pray faithfully, to embrace sacrifice with love, and to trust completely in the promises of your Immaculate Heart.

We consecrate ourselves to you and ask you to lead us always closer to your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.
