Cray cray? Yes- Sundays have been crazy. Every day is a church conference (0k to be fair-- every day but Fridays) during this season. Last Sunday was truly crazy. 8:30am sentimental item pick up from (former) Bashford UMC, 9:30am worship & 11am CC at Waunakee: Crossroads (did you know that they have started simultaneous Eng/Spanish translation for worship?!!!), 1pm Portage church Conference, 3pm Davis Corners CC, 6pm CC in Baraboo First United Methodist Church. UFF DA! I was a zombie when I got home- but ALL conferences went well and I am sooo pleased with the good ministry these churches are doing! Thank you for giving me HOPE! Tomorrow? Only Columbus and Fall River UMCs- then off to Cabinet BoOM retreat at Pine Lake! Watch out for the wild lady in the red Mazda-- more to go before the snow flies!

TWELVE HOUR RETREAT- Pine Lake Camp, Harmony Choir leadership, and steak and eggs for Friday morning breakfast. Lots of "wins." Thank you for your invitation to join you for a time of reflection, visioning, and fellowship. What a terrifc group of peeps!

The 'prompt' for FaceBook is, "What's on your mind?" Right now, I'll be honest: PASTIES! (You, know.. the yummy Cornish potato/onion/hamburger deep fried nuggets of love!) I had the blessing of being with the leaders of Lamont UMC and Shullsburg: Centenary UMC today for church conference. Pasties for their communities are a big deal-- part of the history of the region of miners as the 'dinner-to-go' --and also mighty tasty parts of the present! I was fortunate to receive the offer of one of the members (Pam) say, "I've got an extra at home!" I followed her to her house and she ran in and back out with a pie-sized pasty-delight. It was our dinner this evening back in Madison. I love (parts of) this job. UM people are awesome, UM food is awesome. And being greeted for a church conference on a Saturday AM with fresh baked quiche and cinnamon rolls is awesome, with dinner to-go! And, of course, not to miss, hearing a pastor say, "I'm feeling so good with ministry, and so very appreciated by these churches...!" THANK YOU, dear SW Dist UMCers! Beloit is a great lil city-- great city, amazing people! Beloit: River of Life could NOT STOP sharing about the terrific mission & ministry they are doing: tutoring kids, Midwest Mission efforts, dynamic choir, feeding the community, and on and on. (I ultimately had to say that we needed to get along with our business of the church conference!) Likewise, Henderson Ave (historically Black congregation) is a faithful group committed to their church! They are so dedicated to their neighborhood, to kids, and to feeding people! I'm so excited- they are looking for new ways to do outreach-- it was fun to dream with them! Thank you, Beloit UMCers!
