When our hearts are brimming with the hope and love that come from abiding in Christ, kindness stops being just a task and starts to overflow naturally into the world around us.

​Jesus reminds us in John 14:23: "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him."

​When the Creator of the universe makes His home in our hearts, His love doesn't stay locked inside the four walls of the church. It spills over to everyone we cross paths with—touching both fellow believers who need a fresh spark of encouragement and non-believers who are searching for a genuine glimpse of grace.

When we stay in tune with God and pay attention to the passions He places on our hearts, we realize we aren't walking this path alone. Every act of service, every hand extended to our community, and every small step we take together is part of a bigger story He has already prepared for us.

God holds the grand design in His hands. What might seem to make complete sense to us in the moment can sometimes differ from the magnificent purpose He has in store for our families, our loved ones, and our community.

​"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.' Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow." — James 4:13–14

​We are continually reminded to hold our plans loosely and lean heavily into His wisdom. Even when the path ahead looks different than expected, we can find peace knowing His steadfast love and ultimate vision never fail.

We need knowledge, understanding, and an open heart as we follow God's leading.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

When we open His Word, we are anchored, guided, and fully equipped to love those around us. Every great movement starts close to home—so tell the world, starting with your neighbors, what God has done in your life. You never know how a single testimony might ripple through our community.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the noise and confusion of the world around us. But we are not left to navigate it alone.

​The Holy Spirit is our guide, helping us to discern what is true and right from what is unhealthy and wrong. When we lean on Him and anchor ourselves in the Scriptures, we find the strength to persevere and the comfort of a living hope.

​“Whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” — Romans 15:4

It is easy to love when things are perfect, but the real call is to love when it is hard—when it takes years, and when there are mistakes along the way. That is the "effort" of true discipleship.

​Ephesians 4:1-3 reminds us that our calling is to live with humility, gentleness, and deep patience, keeping the bond of peace intact.

​At The Anchor Refuge, we are so grateful for a community that chooses to stay, choose to forgive, and choose to love through the messiness of life.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we reflect on the true foundation of liberty. 🇺🇸 We are incredibly grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in this nation, but even more grateful for the ultimate freedom found in Christ. 🙌✨

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." — 2 Corinthians 3:17 📖❤️

Today, as we look back on 250 years of history, we also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who serve and protect our country, sacrificing so much to preserve the liberties we cherish. 🎖️🇺🇸🦅
