Wanted to give a shout-out to Lucy, Mac, and Cameron! For the past several weeks as I was prepping for the students to arrive, these 3 without saying a word decided to contribute by clearing out the gym to get ready for our games and activities. Moving 120 chairs and stage pieces for 3 weeks can get tedious but these wonderful students are always willing to help out. Phil 2:14 states “Do all things without grumbling or complaining.” Without a single complaint they are always willing to lend a hand. I pray people get inspired by these individuals because I have no doubt they are going to change the world, one step at a time.

Here’s a few pics from our youth camp. Palo Duro Canyon was such an amazing experiences as well. Getting a chance to lose cell service and be surrounded in God’s glory is a 10/10 recommendation.
I love our family!

I am happy to announce this weeks student of the week is none other than the awesome Kelty Conner. She is in varsity volleyball and basketball along with being class secretary, BETA president, and even a student council member. She has also went to state in UIL poetry while participating in all honors and dual credit classes. I’ve asked her what is one thing she hopes to accomplish during her time in the youth program and this is what she had to say. “I just want to be a good example of love and passion for the younger kids, so that they grow up in a positive environment and can continue eagerly learning about the word in this youth group after I graduate.”

Kelty continues to better herself and I for one am blessed to have someone like her in our program. Thank you for all you do fam!

Last week the youth helped the children make banners for camp, play several games, and to top it off with a little basketball.

Big shoutout to Donna Williams and Whitney Vaughan for being the backbone that holds this youth group together on Wednesdays!

It’s that time again! I would like to announce this week’s Student of the Week, Jacob Semler!

As a junior, he is currently taking honors classes while playing football. He has also powerlifted. One of his favorite classes in school is Audio/Visual Production which is something he is driven to do after High School. Jacob has been a part of BPA and Key Club many years, and when it comes to youth at our church he has made this statement regarding the question: What he hopes to accomplish within youth program. He proceeded to tell me “What I’d like to accomplish at youth is strengthening my faith and help others strengthen theirs.”
That statement is one that I admire and to see him actively live that out is such a bonus.

This young man is definitely going places and I for one love his personality, drive, overall love for people and the Lord.

As we are surviving through 2021, the students have had to endure so much from Covid to the recent snowstorm that took place. With that, I wanted to take a second to announce a new thing we are doing called Student of the Week. This gives a chance to honor students in all of their hard work and dedication within the youth group and outside. Without further ado, I would like to announce this week’s Student of the Week, Savannah Lilley.

With being a junior, Savannah is in all advanced classes, she participates in FCA, she’s in the Rhapsody Choir Class where she advanced to state in both my Solo and her Ensemble, and lastly she is the upcoming STUCO Treasurer.
Within our youth program she is a mentor to two of our students while helping our main worship leader gather enough members for our soon to be worship team.

This young lady demonstrates drive and is willing to stay after and clean up messes after a Wednesday night. If you ever get a chance to sit and have a discussion with Savannah, I know you won’t be disappointed. She is most definitely a champ!
