This might mess with how you were taught to think about God.

God doesn’t love you because you are good.

God loves you because He is good.

That may sound subtle.
But it’s actually revolutionary.

Religion loves scorecards.
His grace tears them up.

If God only loved “good people,”
grace would be unnecessary...
and Jesus wouldn’t have needed to come at all.

Oh, and we'd ALL be disqualified.

Scripture never says God’s love
is a reward for perfect behavior.

It says love is who God IS.

Don't panic my legalist friends, I'm not saying that doesn’t mean sin doesn’t matter.

It means we’ve misunderstood why it matters.

Sin isn’t a "gotcha list" God uses to disqualify people.

Sin is anything that damages love.
Our love for God, others, or ourselves.

That’s why Jesus didn’t summarize the law with a longer list.

He gave us two commands:
Love God.
Love people.

And He said everything hangs on them.

So when we treat people as
problems to fix
instead of people to love…

when we shame first and listen never…
when we call cruelty “conviction”…
we aren’t being bold.
We’re being blatantly disobedient.

You don’t become a “warrior for Christ” by ignoring Christ’s actual instructions.

Yes, Jesus said,
“Go and sin no more.”

But notice the order.

First, He said,
“Neither do I condemn you.”

In the exact same verse.

And unless you’re sinless,
He already settled who gets to throw stones.

Policing someone else’s behavior
while hiding your own mess...
isn’t righteousness.

Jesus called it being a whitewashed tomb.

Today we simply call it hypocrisy.

Here’s the point:
If your faith is mostly about pointing fingers, you’ve missed the heart of Jesus.

Grace isn’t pretending sin doesn’t matter.

Grace is refusing to believe shame can accomplish what only love and the Holy Spirit can do.

Love and grace is the soil where real transformation grows.

And that kind of love doesn’t begin with how good we are.

It begins with how good God is.

God is good all the time,
and all the time...
God is good.
