Today, here at Sts. Philip & James was the funeral and burial of Laurence "Larry" Carver. Larry lived in Rolla, Missouri but he attended Sts. Phillip and James Catholic School in River aux Vases in his early childhood. He had many happy memories there attending school, serving at Mass as an altar boy, exploring the countryside and following behind neighbor's plows to pick up Indian arrowheads. Please pray for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace.

Celebrate the Archdiocese's Bicentennial Jubilee at Busch Stadium

Join fellow Catholics from across the Archdiocese as we continue celebrating our Bicentennial Jubilee at Busch Stadium on Saturday, August 29.

Thanks to a special partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals, parishioners, families, friends, and supporters of the Archdiocese are invited to gather for an afternoon of community, fellowship, and baseball.

Fr. Keller and Fr. Wessel will celebrate Mass on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on Monday, September 14th at 6:00pm here at Sts. Philip & James. There will be a parish meeting afterwards in the hall. It is very important that all former parishioners come to this Mass and meeting, especially the younger generation.

In the July newsletter Ste. Genevieve was omitted as one of the parishes where you can drop your contribution envelopes in their collection basket. Sorry that it was left out of this article...

There is still some confusion about putting your contribution envelopes in the basket when you visit another church. Yes, you may do that as long as it is at Zell, St. Agnes, Ozora, Weingarten or Ste. Genevieve Parishes. As before be sure to make out the check to Ste. Genevieve Parish with Sts. Philip & James in the memo. Your envelopes will be turned in to the Parish Office in Ste. Genevieve and will be deposited in our account.

Update: Fr. Gerson will not be able to make it but there will still be ice cream & desserts afterwards.
All are invited to attend Mass at 7pm at St. Catherine's on this second Saturday of the month, August 8, followed by ice cream and desserts for Fr. Gerson's Birthday. There will also be treats for the kids, in our hall. Please share with those who may not have facebook.

Fourth guest priest announcement! Fr. Jacob Wessel is joining Fr. Foy on the 10th Annual Katy Trail Pilgrimage for one day!

This will be Fr. Wessel’s first time on the Katy Trail Pilgrimage, but he may have been hoping to be invited. Well, the Holy Spirit made it happen, & we are very excited to walk with him, pray with him, & hear his Marian talk based on one of the Sorrowful Mysteries.

The full guest priest lineup is still in process, so stay tuned for the final schedule.
