What a wonderful tribute to SBC member, Dr. Richard Holmes, on the Mississippi State University campus.

Friday morning, MSU president, Dr. Mark Keenum joined students and staff to cut the ribbon and unveil a monument in the newly named Holmes Plaza.

The space pays tribute to Dr. Holmes’ historic step in 1965 when he became the first Black student to enroll at MSU. He went on to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

We celebrate this proud moment with Dr. Holmes and thank him for his courage that opened the door for thousands more to follow.
