This is how organic evangelism/discipleship works.

Venue: Not Sunday Morning Church… but Wednesday morning Coffee and Donuts.

Outreach Plan: None. But our arms are open.

What Do We Have to Offer: Hearts of love and Ears that hear stories through the filter of God’s heart.

What is the Key Strategy: Not what to say, but how to listen.

And what were our people listening for? “I’m so tired. Tired of the way this world has treated me.”

And the Holy Spirit is there… and it’s time.

And just like that TIYA, the prodigal, came home to the Father.

What a privilege to simply be one of those who were gathered around this New Child of God… on a Wednesday… to celebrate her salvation.

Christmas Time is our busiest time of the year. From stuffing bags with candy to stuffing gift bags for those living in the apartments next to us (a yearly tradition); to writing cards and letters. And let’s not forget the Christmas Dinner. We do life together.

Think your devotion to God is greater than the pull of the world? Just consider the levels of devotion our nation enjoyed 20 years ago vs. the many easy excuses we use to avoid the things of God, in favor of our worldly cares.

Sometimes things come up: vacation, sickness, work, or other responsibilities. And while attending church, receiving instruction, and worshipping with other believers is crucial, is it necessary to go every single week? The answer to this question is not ...

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 NIV
[18] Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. [19] Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [20] you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Without launching a series of arguments, let me confess something to you. The above scripture is my greatest ongoing struggle and temptation.

Not sexually, however. I am a type II diabetic and have to constantly consider the amount of carbs my favorite foods have in them before I indulge myself. And I am not always victorious… even though my scores are close to 200.

God gave me this body and then, when I received Jesus, I stopped many of the things that I was doing that were sinful. But when it came to eating way more than I should… usually at church gatherings… I and many others would laugh it off and promise one another we’d meet at the altar next Sunday.

My greatest sin was in not understanding this verse, and in trivializing something that God was trying to tell me to stop, or it would kill me.

But… because it was my body… and because I still had free will… and since food tasted so much better than any guilt I must have felt… i continued to fail. That was my sin… my struggle. Now, with knowledge and conviction, I am fighting this battle… because I am not my own. I was bought with a price.

Likewise, I would encourage those of you who are Christian to not judge another believer who finds herself pregnant. But rather, help her to understand that God is the Creator and author of all life. And, the life inside her was His choice to bring into reality.

If you say, “It’s my body, my choice,” then you are absolutely correct. Every human has been given free will, because God doesn’t want slaves, he wants children who choose Him.

However, since Christ paid such a high price for your soul, you must realize that you are no longer your own… it is no longer your body… You must become less so that He can increase. And I understand how the tempter may whisper into the seat of your fears that there are circumstances that may warrant your decision.

But if God is perfect, and if His will is good and purposeful, and if He constantly watches over you. And if He can take your mistakes and make something beautiful out of them. Don’t listen to any voice that says “kill”. Instead, trust God with your… His… body.

And thank Him for life.

Matthew 24:37-39 NIV
[37] As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. [38] For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; [39] and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

2224 BC: (A crowd gathers in a field by the dwelling of Noah)

Spokesperson for the Crowd: Watcha fixin to do Noah

Noah: I’m going to build an ark… a giant boat… to spare all the species of the Earth, because God is sending a flood. You might want to repent while there is time.

Crowd: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

2223 BC: (A crowd gathers in the same field)

Spokesperson: How’s your “Zoo Boat” coming along, Noah?

Noah: It’s hard work, but I’ll have it done by the time it starts raining. You might want to get ready.

Crowd: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

AND EVERY YEAR AFTER UNTIL 2124… THE SAME THING PLAYS OUT.
NOAH WORKS HARD, AND HE PREACHES REPENTANCE, AND THE CROWD SCOFFS.

2124: (The boat is finished and animals are gathering)

CROWD: Well, Noah… Uhm. How’s that boat gonna float when there’s no water for miles around.

(A drop of rain falls from the sky)

NOAH: Last Chance fella’s… Are you in or are you out.

CROWD: We’re out, Crazy Man.

(Noah enters the boat, God closes the heavy door, and springs begin bursting forth out of the ground… and it begins pouring rain.

In 2005, for an unkown reason, I began to take an interest in the Jewish feasts. I found that Jesus had fulfilled each of the spring feast… to the smallest detail.

I tried to tell others in church, but they had no clue as to what the feasts were… had never heard of them.

They believed in Christmas, Easter, Labor Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Furthermore, they felt that studying the Jewish Feasts was too Old Testament… too legalistic.

Then I tried to tell them that even the Jews in Jesus’s time missed the message of their own feasts… and missed the Messiah the first time he came.

I then tried to convince believers to study the fall feasts, to get an idea of when Christ would fulfill them… to the smallest detail.

Again, they brushed me off.

Far less influential or holy than Noah, I too, however, have prepared each and every year for Christ’s fulfillment of the Fall Feasts. Every year, I tell others to repent and get ready for Christ’s return, just before Rosh Hashanah… the feast of trumpets.

And they still scoff. 2 Peter 3:3-4 NIV
[3] Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. [4] They will say, “Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

But I will still faithfully preach, prepare, and wait for Christ’s return. At worst, people will be saved and we will continue serving the Lord…. At best, people will be saved and Christ will return with a shout… at the trumpet’s blast.

Wouldn’t it be cool if you accepted Christ?

Wouldn’t it be cool if you accepted Christ and He split the sky to rescue you from the hatred going on in this world right now?
