We came back to St. Louis to plant a church in 2019 but things did not go as planned. When the pandemic started we were not able to host meetings, raise the funds we needed or hold any church services. So we started doing community projects and helping as many people as we could with the little money we had. We knew that during the toughest time many of us have ever seen, the most important thing was to be Jesus hands and feet to the world. We collected diapers, helped single moms, gifted Thanksgiving dinners, served at community events, helped people buy food and gas, helped people with bills who had lost their jobs and cared for the homeless in our city. We started to realize this is our passion. We knew our hearts were being tugged in this direction for the long haul. We also knew that these needs would not stop. More than anything, we WANTED to be the people that were there to help.
The past few months we have had so many conversations with God about what’s next (and a lot of “why” questions as you can imagine). After much prayer and seeking wisdom from many friends and family, Midtown will be pivoting into a new season. The goal was always to show people Jesus by loving them and being generous…and still is.
Midtown Church will be transitioning into Midtown Ministries. We will not be having Sunday services but we get to be a part of helping the people in our city on a daily basis. We are so excited and ready for this!
Over the next few weeks, we will be transitioning our website, social media and giving apps to reflect Midtown Ministries. Follow along to see what opportunities God sends our way!
