Good afternoon!

After many months of prayer and discussion with our Board, we have made the unfortunate decision to deactivate the Greater St. Louis Guardians chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers-USA.

When Glen Williams, Geoff Schultz, and I first had the idea to create this chapter in 2020, our main goal was to provide a safe place for Christian police officers to come and fellowship with other like-minded police officers. After almost 4 years of activity, I think we were able to accomplish this goal. We were able to meet with several different individuals from all types of law enforcement involvement, including railroad police, police chaplains, municipal police, county police, and corrections officers.

Moving forward, I would encourage you to watch your e-mails and check the FCPO social media pages. Just because we are deactivating this chapter for now, there is always the opportunity for us to activate it in the future. Currently, we are unable to meet the necessary FCPO requirements to maintain a full Board of Directors. However, if we have three people interested in being Board members in the future, this dream of reactivating this great chapter may be realized.

Our e-mail address and page will remain active should you have any questions, and we would love to be able to get back together in the future. Thank you to those who attended regularly and those who were able to make even just one meeting. You made an impact on our lives.

Thank you,
Richard Wiginton

Skilled Warrior
"Learning the skills, the craft, and the necessary arts of being a warrior requires more than mere physical training. It requires us to be totally in tune with our bodies, knowing our physical limitations and having the mental power and strength to crush them when needed. Once you've defeated giants, you know it's beyond your own human strength. You know it was not totally up to you - you are only the vessel - and if you are willing, God will provide all you need for battle.

As Americans, we complain at the slightest discomforts, be he (David) slayed bears and giants. You are a skilled warrior, but are you where you could be if God sharpened you to become a precision instrument?"

"Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle." - Psalm 144:1

A Mighty Defender
"The views we have of God as children often change drastically as we age based on our life experiences. The truth is that He does exist, for He has never changed.

The same God we saw as a mighty defender and shield in our lives and the same God we used to believe could and would do the impossible still exists and still can do those things. The things you face may cause your faith to be shaken to the core, but hold firmly to the promises in His Word. As you do, the love of God will wrap around you as a reminder that He exists."

"But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high." - Psalm 3:3

Ambushed and Attacked
"As ambassadors of Christ, it is important to remember that everyone will see our mistakes and that when we do sin, it will be highlighted for many to see. No matter the circumstances, we should always strive to be professional, but also kind, patient, and understanding, knowing everyone we meet is enduring different circumstances."

"In purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love." - 2 Corinthians 6:6

Know Your Limits
"We all have a breaking point - we're human beings. At some point, if we don't recognize our limits and operate within them, then our limits will let us know where they are and will issue warnings.

We must be excellent ambassadors for God as representatives of His great name, and as such, never run as cowards. He will give us the strength to fight, and He will deliver us from those who are our enemies.

Today, work within your limits, but serve in such a way that those who serve alongside you want to know more about this Jesus you proclaim."

"I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies." - 2 Samuel 22:4

The Difference between Cover and Concealment
"If we pulled up to a house and someone began firing shots at us, as trained law enforcement officers, we know what would provide adequate cover and what would not. Take cover is a phrase that is used a lot in movies, but we know the real-life application of cover and the proper time for concealment.

When we say, "God is our hiding place," it does not mean we are cowards; rather, it means we have enough wisdom and common sense to know when to take cover from attack. Concealment is the life we used to live, going through the motions - maybe going to church and maybe reading the Bible. We were inconsistent, with no passion and not enthusiasm. But when our focus in life shifts from the problems of this world to our eternal significance, we realize the power of refuge found in Christ. He will truly protect us from the attacks of the enemy."

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." - Psalm 32:7

Our Shield and Protector
"This life is temporary; it is like a blip of time on the radar of existence. Our lives are part of a significantly bigger plan, so our job is to make sure we are doing our part being involved in the plan, reaching others with the message of the love of Jesus Christ.

When we are afflicted with pain or injury, know that God did not send those to punish you. He can punish you, but He loves you with an everlasting love. As His servants, He will protect us as we trust Him, follow His guidance, use wisdom, and obey His commands. His mercy will keep us, even in our errors and foolishness, but only for a season; therefore, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as He guides you."

"The LORD will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." - Psalm 121:7-8

Specialty Rescue Team
"Our faith is often challenged in difficult times. It's easy to be strong in our faith when everything is going good, but how we respond when things don't go well is a true testament to our character in Christ. Our life as believers does not end when this physical body ceases to function; life only begins at that moment.

We will be rescued from a life where we intimately know pain, hurt, sorrow, and disappointment. When we shift our thinking and living to the eternal instead of the things of earth, we begin to think with the mind of Christ, and our service as law enforcement officers becomes exponentially more effective."

"The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen." - 2 Timothy 4:18

Cream of the Crop
"Not everyone who applied to your department was hired. In fact, you were likely selected from a pool of hundreds of applicants - but they only selected the best of the best. The citizens of your community are thankful that they do not have the bottom of the stack responding when they need them most; they get the best when they get men and women from your department.

In the same way, Father God did not send a cheap substitute to rescue use from this present evil age, a world dominated by evil. No, He loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to rescue us from our own destructive living. We should do our best in all we do. And at the end of the day, He gets the glory for the work we do, for the lives we impact, and for the evil we apprehend."

"The Lord Jesus Christ...gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father." - Galatians 1:3-4

Long Arm of the Law
"What happens when the day comes and one of our own loses his or her life in the line of duty? We stop at nothing short of exhausting all resources and manpower, and calling in assistance until those responsible are apprehended and held responsible for their actions.

At the end of the day, even the strongest believers in Christ may have questions after a line-of-duty death, but knowing we can rest in the peace found in Jesus gives us hope and strength to continue. Today, think of how God can use you to bring peace to someone in a troubling situation, or how apprehending a violent criminal can give a victim or victim's family closure."

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your hand you save me." - Psalm 138:7

The Devil's Playground
"We live in a world under the control of evil, and the only thing holding evil back from having total rule is the mercy of God. We live and operate in the devil's playground; people are not the enemy. In Ephesians, Paul had a way of showing us who the real enemy was: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Ephesians 6:12).

If we are not clear about who we are at war against, then we will not be effective in battle. It would behoove you to equip yourself with high-quality training, equipment, and a proper mind-set, but also daily prayer and fellowship with God."

"We know that we are children of God, and that they whole world is under the control of the evil one." - 1 John 3:19
