In the dating world, people are looking for Mr./Mrs. Perfect. In the single world people are trying to become Mr./Mrs. Perfect. Both assume that you need to be fully finished before committing to marriage.

But marriage isn’t about finding a finished person. It’s about committing to the lifelong formation of an unfinished person.

That’s the beauty of covenant love. Two imperfect people choosing deep friendship while God deeply forms them over a lifetime of commitment.
