Youth Leaders Need One Another! There may be no more challenging ministry to the Body of Christ than that of the youth pastor and leader. So often, it seems to be a lonely venture! Our Baptist Association desires to create an environment of support and encouragement for every youth leader in our churches, whether they are volunteer, part-time or full-time vocational youth pastors. y Baptist Association had the vision in 2010 to call a specialist with years of experience in youth ministry and pastoral care, to serve on their staff. Doug Watson came to the position of Youth Ministry Consultant after serving as a full-time youth pastor in churches across America for more than 25 years. His last ministry position as youth pastor was for nine years at one of the largest churches in the GCBA, Ridgecrest Baptist Church. His unique perspective having served “in the trenches” working with teens in Greene County and across the country for years provides for us a special resource and leadership that can benefit our youth leaders. Doug and the Associational office maintain a database for each youth leader and church in our association, so we encourage you to connect with our office or directly with Doug if you are not receiving e-mails and communications about student work in our area.
