The "Hudson Hero Blood Drive" will be held Tuesday, August 25th from 4 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church in the multi-purpose room, located at 415 North Main St., Springboro. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment at www.DonorTime.com. Please use sponsor code 95. Hudson was nearly three months old when diagnosed with nueroblastoma, a cancer of the nerve tissues that is the most common
type of cancer in infants. On March 13th Hudson went in for a post 1 year chemo check up! "Hudson Xavier's HemeOnc check up was GREAT! Labs looked good and now that we are a YEAR out from his last chemo, we get to do ultrasounds every six months instead of alternating between CT and ultrasound every three months AND check ups every TWO months instead of one!!!" His parents Steve and Andrea Marshall support the blood drive as a way of thanking blood donors and supporting cancer patients. โWhen you give blood and platelets, it may seem like a small donation to you,โ said the Marshalls, โbut to us, it is life.โ
Hudson has had clean scans with every check up! This boy is truly a HERO!! Blood products helped saved Hudsons life and the Marshalls are very grateful that the blood he needed was available when he needed it most. Hudson is in remission, partly because of the willingness of others to give the gift of life. I encourage the entire community to selfishly roll up a sleeve at this blood drive in Hudson Heros honor and as a way help other cancer patients just like Hudson was supported.
