💔 There’s a weight that comes with pastoring when you truly have a pastor’s heart. It’s not a position or a paycheck, it’s a pull. A pull toward your people’s pain, their progress, their prayers, and their problems. You feel it all, even when they don’t realize you do.
😔 Imagine hearing bad news from several directions in one week. Sickness. Death. Divorce. Disappointment. Members struggling financially or emotionally. And you carry it all while trying to keep everyone encouraged, even when your own spirit is exhausted.
🙏🏽 Every week, you’re praying, strategizing, and scrambling to find solutions for people who may never know how many hours you’ve spent on your knees or on the phone for them. You don’t complain because love doesn’t need applause, but it’s still a weight nonetheless.
💭 There’s a connection between a pastor and the people that the people don’t always have with the pastor. The pastor carries them in prayer, in thought, and in heart in a way that words can’t express. It’s a bond that heaven understands more than earth can explain.
💐 October is Clergy Appreciation Month. Think about this, and consider your pastor. The one who prays for you, covers you, carries you, and stands tall under the weight that comes with having a pastor’s heart.
