Great news we are going to be starting up Women’s bible study again. It’s going to look a little different for at least the time being. There will not be a morning session right now. Instead beginning April 7th, Women’s Bible study will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm (opposite weeks of The Well which is switching to the 2nd & 4th Wednesday).

Bible study will meet downstairs in room #8 (where The Well meets).

Chris Carrasco (her and her husband Frank started last spring right before Covid) will be facilitating it. She is very excited to be facilitating Bible study.

We realize that is Spring Break and so the first session may be light on attendees, but that’s OK because it’s just an introductory session.

Please email Chris at [email protected], or call her at (714) 904-4241 to sign up. You may pay at your first session. If you have any other questions about Bible study, feel free to email me at [email protected], or call me at (509) 280-7277. Wednesday nights has activities for kids as well, so if you will be bringing your kids ages birth through teens, make sure to mention how many and ages when you sign up, so we can ensure that we have enough helpers.

* Finding God Faithful
* “A study of Joseph’s life” (Genesis)
* By: Kelly Minter
* 8 sessions
* $20

Study overview

THE LORD WAS WITH JOSEPH AND EXTENDED KINDNESS TO HIM. Genesis 39:21a
* In the midst of hardship, tragedy, and unanswered questions, it’s difficult to glimpse God at work. How do we hold onto our faith during these times? How do we trust God is working all things for our good and His glory?
* Over 8 sessions, trace the path of Joseph’s life in the Book of Genesis to observe how God’s sovereignty reigns, even in our darkest moments. Learn to recognize when God is working during periods of waiting, trust God’s plan when life doesn’t make sense, and rest in the sufficiency of His presence in every circumstance. His provision is enough, His presence is constant, and His purpose is unstoppable.

Wanted to share a post from Eileen Green on the Advent bags we normally collect.

From Eileen:

Good Morning on this very snowy Tuesday morning. Some of you have been asking me about the Advent Bags this year. I wanted to give you a very quick update as to where we are with that.

After visiting with Pastor Mark and Barb Olson we have opted to go a different direction for this year for a couple reasons.

Probably the biggest reason is after visiting with Barb, is that the pantry right now doesn't need food. Which is a huge blessing. Second Harvest received a massive amount of money and because of that the food pantries in the area will reap the benefits of this. Secondly, with all the handling of the food items, in and out the church, we just didn't feel that going that direction was a safe transition right at this moment.

With that being said we are still going to bless the Pantry only through a different ministry. A Hand Up, Which is the non food part of the Pantry. They hand out items that can't be purchased by families as part of their EBT programs.

Each year our Ladies Tea contributes to our Hand Up Program and because the Tea is on hold till next year, we felt that this was a great way to bless A Hand Up. Barb has explained to me that each client receives a 15.00 bag that is filled with specific items and each bag is exactly the same. Shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.

So what we will do this year, is to have a display in the foyer with a sample of what is in those bags and ask for monetary donations to fill those bags. We know right now people are just wanting something to do to make them feel like they are somehow, someway blessing people. So the money will be collected throughout the Advent Season and then like the Advent Bags, the money will then be presented to A Hand Up for them to be able to make the purchases they may need to Bless these families in the New Year. We will have a description page for people to take home with them, along with putting it on the church website.

If you have any questions, just let me know.
