We exist to know Jesus, nurture disciples of Jesus, and make Jesus known from here to the nations.

Building steadfast disciples, reaching those far from God, and leading both in a growing relationship with Jesus

Today was a very special day at Mission church as two people publicly declared “I am His” and were baptized! Any time someone makes the decision to follow Jesus there is a reason to celebrate! It’s so amazing to see how the Lord is moving in this community!

Join us this Friday for another great Youth Night!

We also just wanted to give a huge shout out to this awesome group of kids! They canvassed Sparta last Friday, knocking on doors, inviting people to church and asking how they could pray for those they encountered. This is not an easy task, it involves bravery, some rejection and a whole lot of faith. It was so cool to witness their confidence growing as the evening went on and seeing how they got more and more comfortable talking to people.
Please continue to pray for this amazing group of young people as they grow in faith and boldness for the Lord!

Can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Join us for our service at 10:30 for worship and fellowship!

This Friday Night youth group will look a little bit different. We will be taking the youth out into the community to hand out flyers, and find out ways we can be praying for individuals/our community. We will have an increased number of our adult team members to assist with each group. The other change is that this Friday we will be meeting at the church at 5:30 rather than 6 to allow for a time of prayer and Bible study before heading out.
Please pray for our youth and team members and for those who we encounter. Pray that we have the words to say, ears to hear and hearts that are on fire for the Lord!

We can’t wait for another Sunday spent in worship and the word! See you tomorrow at 10:30!

Happy Sunday! If you missed today’s message here are a few key notes!
Today’s message what from Romans 12:9-12.
-Verse 9- “Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil;cling to what is good.” Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have moral standards, beliefs, or virtues that you do not actually follow or possess. Hypocrisy is an easy habit to fall into. It happens when we say one thing or tell others to act a certain way but then turn around and do the opposite ourselves. As followers of King Jesus we should repel all matter of evil and actively cling to the ways of the Lord. We are all human and all fall short but we should all be striving to become more like Christ.
-In Matthew 23:27-28 Jesus addresses the Pharisees and tells them that outwardly they appear to be holy but inwardly they are unclean. As Terry said today, don’t be like a chocolate Easter bunny, don’t look good on the outside but be hollow on the inside.
-Verse 10: “love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Take the lead in honoring one another.” We are ALL children of the most high God. We are ALL brothers and sisters in Jesus. So take the lead, step up and love even when it’s hard, even when things don’t go your way, even when people disappoint you. LOVE THEM ANYWAY. Become a leader of your mission, and that mission is to share the love of God with everyone.
-Verse 11: “Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.” To have zeal means to have great energy and enthusiasm or passion. Are you energized by the things the Lord is doing or the ways He is moving in your life? The greatest way to be zealous for what the Lord is doing is to pray, be in the word and listen to the Holy Spirit.
-Verse 12: “Rejoice in Hope;be patient in affliction, be persistent in prayer.” When was the last time that you truly rejoiced in the things that the Lord has done for you? We can all loose sight of how the Lord is moving and working. It’s easy to do when life is hard and things aren’t going the way we think they should. But rest assured, God is always working! Be patient give Him time.
-In Philippians 4:6-7 it says “Do not be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Questions to think about this week:
-In what areas of your life do you find yourself saying one thing but doing the opposite?
-How can you show the love of God to those around you?
-What are some things that are weighing you down and causing anxiousness? Lay them at the foot of the cross! Be persistent in prayer and ask the Lord for strength, direction and peace. Alone we are sunk but with Him all things are possible!
