The mentors in this “Hope4Marriages” program are mature married couples from your church who care about others and are able to provide hope, encouragement and recovery. What: The two couples meet together and follow a Christ-Centered, biblically-based curriculum for 12-14 weeks. The mentored couple builds their vertical relationship with God and their horizontal relationship with one another. The
couple gains skills and tools for a fulfilling marriage that functions well under the caring eyes and hearts of their mentor couple. Where: The two couples meet together at a convenient time and location, often at the Encourager Couple’s home. Why: God created marriage, one of the most important relationships on earth. Centered upon the person and presence of Jesus Christ, Christian marriage provides a relational template in which spouses can learn about and deeply receive God’s love. Christian marriage is able to also to extend God’s love to others.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 asks us to encourage one another and to build each other up. Ephesians 5:32 says that marriage is a profound mystery—personifying the relationship of Jesus Christ and the Church.
2 Corinthians 13:11 encourages all Christians to rejoice, and to strive together for full relational restoration; to encourage one another, to be of one mind, and to live together in peace. God promises to be with us in this.
