This week’s sermon message (5/31/26) will cover Numbers 8, a chapter about organizing the Levites. Here are some things to be thinking through as you read the passage:

1. Read 8:1-4. Why does it matter what direction the light shines? What is the significance?
2. Read 8:5-22. Why would the Levites need to be purified in order to do their work?
3. Look at the end of the chapter. What does this section teach us about our own role in helping equip the generations of believers that come after us?

Oftentimes we want to judge our lives by our mountaintop experiences, but, important as they are, it’s the repetitive things, what we do in the day to day mundanity that builds a Christian life. Our daily walk speaks much, much more about what we believe and Who we serve.

- What words do you see repeated in these few verses? What is that repetition trying to tell us?
- What does it mean for the Lord’s name to be put upon the people of Israel? Have we heard something like that before?
- How does Christ perfectly fulfill this blessing?

This week, Pastor David begins two weeks in Numbers 6. Here are some things to thinking about as you read the passage:

- How do the Nazirites that we see in this chapter compare to the priests and Levites that we have talked about so far in Numbers?
- Verses 9-12 describe what happens if the Nazirite vow is broken. What does the Lord require of a Nazirite that has broken his vow? Why do you think that the Lord requires these things?
- When the time is completed, how does the Nazirite vow end? What happens at the end of the vow and what does it show to the other Israelites?
