Attention all Voices of Faith Choir members and all others interested in being a part of this years Christmas performance, both church members and others. Sunday, August 13th, at 4:30 PM we will have our Christmas in August. It's a time when we find those who are interested, everyone brings their favorite Christmas foods and desserts then we go through the production learning what is needed and the direction. This years performance is called "More Than a Baby". We need singers, soloists, actors, stage hands, stage and costume managers, stage builders, media and lights. We will then not only have our regular choir practices but to accommodate those who are not a part of our church and those who want a more in depth practice we will meet together each Thursday night at 7:00.
It will be a great time of fellowship at this years Christmas in August.
Performance Dates: November 25, 26 and 27.

It has always be a long time desire to assemble those who are gifted in writing sound foundational lyrics of the faith and those who can put it to music. Modern hymn writers are needed to be heard today more than ever. Writers that write not just to put together a pretty tune with a few heart led words but writers who can put together songs that are singable and learnable by the masses and not just a few talented singers. Writers that understand that doctrine, theology, and the sharing of our faith is foundational not only in sermons but also in the music we create. There are many tools to sharpen that craft. I will share them here as I find them.

Thirty-five year Christian music industry veteran, John Chisum, brings you the vital keys to writing your most compelling songs ever in this informative and inspirational webinar. The keys John will give you today unlocked for him the secrets to writing and publishing over 400 of his own songs, as w...

We talked about making sure our music is Bible based, solid in Doctrine and that it can be used to "teach and admonish" one another. I promised that I would list some sources of music for your listening. Many of these is where new hymns will be found.

Of course there are others but as I heard a preacher speak years ago and say "not all secular music is bad and not all "Christian" music is good" We are to not only know the artists but also the doctrine behind what they are singing. For some, the only doctrine that will ever stick will be what they learn in song.

Last night choir practice was different but my heart is so full. We are missed each other and it was evident. Some highlights:
1. Colossians 3:12-17 and how it applies to the choir.
2. Prayer for one another and those on our hearts.
3. Vision for the new year.
4. New music and CD (incredible music)
5. Laid out music for Palm Sunday and Easter
6. Doing "The Answer", "All My Hope", and "The Church Triumphant" in the next few weeks.
7. Loved and encouraged one another.
We will be meeting on Sundays at 4:30 and Wednesday at 8:10. Wednesday will be primarily to get us ready for Easter and to learn new congregational songs.
We are open to others who wish to worship in spirit and in truth.

Our scripture from last nights choir practice, Colossians 3:12-17. "12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
