Stand to Reason

Stand to Reason Confidence for every Christian. Clear thinking for every challenge. Courage and grace for every encounter. We teach not just what to think, but how to think.

Stand to Reason equips Christian ambassadors with knowledge, wisdom, and character. Stand to Reason teaches the value of using our minds to love God and share the Gospel. We focus on the basics, the fundamentals of theology and ethics, and the fundamental tools of thought. While Stand to Reason may not be unique in the information we give, we are distinctive in the way we use the information. Stan

d to Reason teaches careful reasoning and well thought-out answers so that Christians will be able to participate in public discussions (at home, at work, or at the university) and present the Christian worldview in the debate. We encourage Christians to develop coherent answers to questions that challenge Christianity so that their faith is deepened and thereby are emboldened to share the Gospel in a gracious and compelling manner.

“For He says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.‘” — Romans 9:15

How is God’s divine prerogative shown in Romans 9 different from the capriciousness of Allah?

Allah forgives randomly, and he has no way to ground justice. Our God grounds his grace in justice.

“I feel good about who I am.”

Since we all have sin in our life that we don’t consider to be sinful, and will only learn about it when we get to Heaven, doesn’t that mean a practicing homosexual can be born again as long as he sincerely believes his behavior is not sinful?

Jon Noyes talks to an atheist and a Catholic at a women’s rights march about whether Jesus was an exclusivist, if all religions pray to the same God, and what grounds our values.

“Jesus says, ‘I’m the only way.‘ Right? ‘The only way to the Father is but by me.’ Muslims don’t teach that. Muslims teach that Jesus is a prophet who never died and therefore wasn’t raised. Jews teach that Jesus was a false prophet who died and was buried and stayed dead. So, all three of those things can’t be true at the same time.”

“The people I’m speaking with, they argue that all religions are just different paths up the same mountain, but that’s simply just not true, because it’s not possible.”

“When people say faith is believing without evidence, that’s not Christianity. That’s a caricature of what Christianity is. Faith isn’t a blind leap. It’s reasonable trust based on what God has already done.”
