As we step into 2026, we pause to lift every Sunday School teacher before the Lord -- those who labor faithfully, teach diligently, and serve selflessly.

May this prayer strengthen hearts, renew vision, and remind every teacher that their calling is sacred and their impact eternal.

With hearts full of compassion and reverence, Bishop Linwood and Lady Stephanie Dillard, Mother Patricia L. Merriweather, and the entire constituency of the Tennessee Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction extend our deepest and most sincere condolences in the transition of Superintendent Lawrence Champion Blake, Sr.

We lift in prayer and love Presiding Bishop Emeritus Charles Blake and Lady Mae Blake, siblings Kim and Pastor Charles Blake II, and most especially his beloved wife, Jeanine, and their precious children. We also embrace the West Angeles and Palm Lane Church Of God In Christ families during this season of profound loss.

Superintendent Blake’s life and legacy reflect faithful service, unwavering commitment to the work of the Lord, and an enduring impact on the Church and all who were blessed to know him. While we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that he has heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

May the God of all comfort strengthen, sustain, and surround the Blake family and church families with His perfect peace.
