Ya'll, I'm so truly humbled
Growing up, I was always asked by my parents to create a list of things I wanted for Christmas or my birthday and very often the list would get completely ignored for things my parents decided I needed more. For example, I remember asking for the game "Pretty Pretty Princess" and instead my mom gave me the game "Careers" (a game about how to grow up to be a Career Woman). Needless to say because I didn't have Pretty Pretty Princess, my friends didn't like to come over to my house to play
I had been thinking about my birthday this year and how I've been trying to focus on buying banned books or history books written by minorities, but that gets real expensive real fast. So, in a stroke of genius I decided to ask my friends and loved ones to help me with my library project.
And holy COW did you all deliver!
Thank you to everyone who saw my posts and sent me a book or venmo, you all truly made my day! I can't wait to organize these and have dedicated space on my book shelves for all these amazing books.
A QUICK NOTE:
Two books arrived without gift receipts, so if you are responsible for either, please let me know!
- The Kite Runner
