Tomorrow morning, you are invited to step away from the noise and gather with us.

Come drum, connect, reflect, and simply spend a little time together. Everyone is welcome.

There are moments when something you have been tending begins to grow in a direction you could not have planned.

For Bradley and me, this feels like one of those moments.

When we began New Moon Sanctuary, our intention was simple: to create a place where people could step away from the noise for a while—to pause, reflect, gather, and remember what matters.

That mission has not changed. It has expanded.

Our partnership with Active Heroes has brought Sanctuary onto 145 beautiful acres of land and opened the door for us to welcome even more people to the circle.

New Moon Sanctuary is, and always will be, open to everyone. Whatever your beliefs, background, or life experience, there is a place for you here.

And in this new chapter, I especially want our veterans, active-duty service members, and military families to know that this invitation includes you.

Come sit with us. Have a bowl of soup and some homemade bread. Listen to the drum. Walk the land. Take a deep breath. Spend a Sunday morning somewhere you can simply be.

There are 145 acres of peace here, and we would love to welcome you to the land.

What happens when a Native American veteran organization and a veteran-serving nonprofit decide to build something together?

Honor the Missing Powwow.

Hosted by the Ohio Valley Native American Veteran Warriors Society (OVNAVWS) and Active Heroes , Honor the Missing is more than a weekend event. It is a mission-driven gathering where Native and non-Native communities come together to celebrate Native American culture, honor our veterans, and advance awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW).

Throughout the weekend, you'll experience the heartbeat of the Drum, the beauty of traditional regalia, Native song and dance, cultural education, family activities, and opportunities to support Native artists and vendors. Most importantly, you'll be welcomed into the Circle, where community, respect, and remembrance come together.

This is only the beginning. Our vision is to establish Honor the Missing as an annual Kentucky tradition that builds bridges, strengthens communities, and leaves every visitor carrying a little of the Circle with them.

We invite you to follow our journey, share our mission, and join us October 2–4, 2026, at Active Heroes in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

Honor the Missing. Honor Our Veterans. Honor Our Communities.

Bradley and I are grateful and excited to share that New Moon Sanctuary has entered a new partnership with Active Heroes.

Since January of 2024, New Moon Sanctuary has gathered with one simple intention: to create a place where people can pause, reflect, and remember what is sacred. That intention remains the same as we begin this new chapter together.

I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Lisa Rinkel, who believed in New Moon Sanctuary from the very beginning. Her generosity gave our Sanctuary a place to take root and grow. That space became a place of reflection, laughter, tears, drumming, and shared meals, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you, Lisa.

Our partnership with Active Heroes allows us to continue offering our Sunday gatherings while furthering a shared mission of serving veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and the broader community. Together, we're creating a place where people from all walks of life are welcome to pause, reflect, and deepen their relationships with themselves, one another, and life.
