Each year at “The One” annual golf tournament, we pause to celebrate a story that reminds us why this work matters so much.

This year, we’re honored to introduce you to The One Family.

Sometimes “The One” starts with a whisper you can’t ignore.

For Daniel and Andrea, it showed up everywhere… at church, through friends, In quiet moments they couldn’t shake.

Three days after saying yes to foster care, two little boys entered their home—
carrying questions, confusion, and a story still being written.

After years of loving, waiting, and trusting God…
those boys are now forever theirs. Officially adopted!

This is just a glimpse of their story. And it’s a huge reason why we do what we do.

For The One.

Because every child matters. Every story matters.
And sometimes… saying yes changes everything.

If you’re joining us at the tournament this year, you’ll get to hear more of their story so check out The One booklets in your golf cart this year—and see firsthand the impact your support makes.

If you are NOT joining us for the Golf Tournament this year but would like to support us anyway, we would welcome that and would be happy to send you a booklet! Just comment below and someone will reach out to you from our team!

We are a little over a week out from our Golf Tournament and just feel so beyond grateful to each and every person who supports the mission God has given us!

We’ve been working on something really special… and it’s hard to fully put into words what this home means.

I still remember sitting in my living room talking with a friend about a dream I had for ministry houses! We prayed over it in 2020 & it became a reality the very next year. The vision was maybe a little different than I thought it would be but God knew exactly what he was doing and still does!

For the past several years, “Not Far From Home” has been used as a year long discipleship home—walking alongside teens aging out of foster care and birth moms working toward reunification. And it has been so rewarding.

But after much prayer and conversations with our local Department of Social Services, we became aware of another need right here in our community.

There are children who can be harder to place due to a lack of available or willing homes … and many times, they have nowhere to go other than hotel rooms or DSS offices while they wait.

So this home is being transformed to meet that need.

A place for children to stay—
even if it’s just temporarily—
when they have nowhere else to go.

And a safe, welcoming space for family visitations.

This past week, some of our local Champion Churches showed up to serve, and it was so special to see people of all ages come together.

Yard work, cleaning, building, hauling…
everyone played a part in getting this home ready.

This home is coming together…
and we truly believe it’s going to make a huge impact for the Kingdom as it has already for the past several years!

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up this past weekend and for those who have even said you would like to sign up for our next workday! We see you & we appreciate you! The support and prayers mean SO much!

…that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.” -1 Thessalonians 4:13b

We, at One More One Less Project, are grieving alongside The Gaines Family as yesterday afternoon, their 4 year old son Ivy was made whole and is now with Jesus.

Robbie is our Special Needs Director at OMOLP and we know many of you love Robbie and his entire family! At OMOLP our heart is to always make sure children have a champion and the Gaines family embodied this message through their precious son, Ivy.

This photo was taken during one of our staff meetings not long ago. It’s a simple moment, but one that says so much about the heart of this family.

Ministry was happening around the table… and Ivy was right there in the middle of it. Because in this work — and in this family — children are never in the way. They are always welcome. They belong. They are part of the mission.

Ivy’s life reminded all of us why this work matters so deeply. Every child deserves to be seen, loved, and championed.

Please continue to lift up the Gaines family in your prayers in the days ahead. And as we grieve, we also hold tightly to the hope we have in Jesus — the same hope that tells us Ivy is whole, healed, and home.

Urgent Update ‼️‼️‼️
We were so excited about this coming Saturday’s game, but we feel it is wise, with people coming from all over the state, to push the game back to February 28th.
The inclement weather will make travel really difficult for the OMOLP team as well!
We appreciate your understanding and hope foster, kinship and adoptive families will also be able to make the new date of February 28th!
Please email us at [email protected] for any questions!

Five years ago, this boy came into our home at 10 years old. Now he’s 15—and witnessing the way God is moving in his life humbles me beyond words.
These moments remind me why foster care matters.
These moments matter.
Because some children will never hear the Gospel unless someone intentionally brings it to them. Sharing the gospel is such a sacred responsibility.
Foster care is not just about homes.
It’s about hope.
It’s about healing.
It’s about showing kids who Jesus is through everyday love.
Discipleship isn’t flashy.
It’s slow, relational, and deeply holy.
And it is one of the greatest privileges of our lives. It’s why we do what we do.

Cleveland County families and individuals: If you have thought about becoming a licensed foster parent, we encourage you to take the next steps and sign up for the required MAPPS training classes coming up!
This process does not mean you HAVE to become licensed! However, it does train you and inform you on the needs within Cleveland County pertaining to foster care! Everyone should be informed!
Foster care has changed our lives! Stepping into this is more than just an option. It’s an opportunity to truly be a part of a child’s story in a positive way!
As of November of 2025, there were 221 children in custody and 73 foster homes! We need more foster families in Cleveland County! We hope you will prayerfully consider signing up!
