For the sake of Love! God showed up big time on my date with him!!! Paul was so very overwhelmed with indebtedness to Jesus Christ, He spent His
whole life expressing it. This morning I am on my knees on my porch pouring
my thankful heart out to Christ. I bring all of my quirks and
idiosyncrasies to my Lord and ask our divine Doctor to remove any sin that
blocks me from receiving all of the love he has for me. I️ reach out and
give my Lord my heart. I can hear his heart beating in my chest, I feel his
heart beating within mine. I have learned that caring for my heart isn't
selfish, it's essential if I want to learn how to pour God's love out to a
hurting world. It's critical! Last night I had a date with God on the river
walk in Naperville. I did a small FB live post. Little did I know there
were 2 young women listening to me. As I got up and continued on the walk
these young women said to me, “we love your pink dress, and were just
talking about how joyful you look, your face radiates love and joy. We
overheard you speaking of God's love , what is this love you speak of?" How
can we meet this God you speak of? WHOA! What a great opportunity to tell
these beautiful young women that they too can invite God into their lives.
They too could experience God's love right here, right now. These women
with funny colored hair, tattoos and piercings all over knelt with me on the
river walk and received Christ. I guess God wanted to invite them on my
date with him. I told them that I get the great opportunity to be God's
healing vessel to a hurting world. Do you know that God knows your
sufferings? He knows EVERY tear! Every sting, We sat on a beautiful Chicago
night and loved one another. They answered my prayer! I am passionate
about being a bondservant for the sake of God's love. Right behind love is
always joy! I want to choose joy in the face of all circumstances. They
choose God's love with me. After a teary time together we looked up at all
of the fireflies lighting up the sky. I sensed God's presence as he light
up the sky with sparks of light! It was like we were watching God's
sparklers! They said they lived right around the corner and have went on
this walk for years NEVER have they seen so many fireflies light up the sky.
We hugged, wiped each other's tears and loved one another. I truly go the
great opportunity to be "broken bead and poured-out wine to these sweet
young women. WE are God's daughters! So this morning I pour out my Praise
to God. I thank God that I can represent Him as my humanity looks more like
Christ. "He chose us in him, before the foundation of the world" (Ephesians
1:4)

OK-I gotta admit! I am over my head in every way. But as we look at the Saints of old so were they! And ya know what God always showed up! When God called Jeremiah to be his prophet of "hard sayings" things not popular to Judah, Jeremiah protests, saying
"'Ah, Sovereign LORD . . . I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.' But the LORD said to me, 'Do not say, "I am only a child." You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,' declares the LORD" (Jer. 1:6-8).
I, like Jeremiah am utterly dependent on his provision, strength and power to rescue me. God helps me recall 3 life threatening illnesses I had 1) thyroid cancer (2002) where the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes and around my vocal cords 2) A traumatic brain injury (2004), I fell off my bike, broke open my head, had 2 blood clots (hematomas in my brain) 90% of people with this type of injury die. 3) A brain tumor (Jan. 2016), meningioma, non-cancerous (YEA!) Left frontal lobe. In the middle of each illness or diagnosis all I could utter was: "Jesus help me" He ALWAYS showed up! And WHOSH! Love showed up. I felt like love itself. My heart is so overwhelmed with love of my Lord, He showed me his mercy and grace over and over again! With my traumatic brain injury I was dying. I was going to heaven. It was warm and oh so inviting. I was ALMOST there when God asked me a question "Do you want to go home to your children" I said yes, and then I woke up! Sick as could be. But I was ALIVE! God graciously gave me a passion and used this traumatic event to make me fearless! I am not afraid to live, and not afraid to die. Dying is going to be amazing! God is giving me a whole bunch of him! He tells me over and over "I Love you Julie, love one another" this is what I hear all day, every day, all night, and every night. I feel like LOVE ITSELF. It's so freeing to LIVE LOVED!
But I admit sometimes I wonder about God's timing in rescuing me. I have asked God "How long O Lord in my weariness and pain.” At times in my life it looks appears like the decks are stacked in favor of those those who have signed up to hurt and betray.
But as I look back on the Saints I see Saints like Joseph who languished for years in an Egyptian prison, Jesus appeared to be abandoned on the cross, who wasn't rescued at all! What about Abraham with his knife raised and ready to plunge into His Sons heart as Isaac waited for the knife to descend. The stories of those who cried out "How long oh Lord" are endless. And there are those of us right here, right now for such a time as this who are groaning under the weight of things gone wrong. We feel we have been "thrown under the bus" waiting for Jesus to return as he sweeps us up into His glory. I know without a doubt I cannot run from this heart I am tethered to. God is HERE! Right here! I cannot escape it. So this morning I bow on my deck. I declare I AM ALIVE! I AM LOVED! This journey with God is NEVER BORING! NEVER DULL! It's filled with drama! (My Kids call me the trauma/drama queen!). Every scene is filled with his never-ending Glory! I am filled to the brim with the never-ending joy of the Lord! Who wouldn't be overjoyed with a God who "has given us everything we need for life and Godliness" 2 Peter 1:3. As I kneel I utter "Jesus", His power comes to bless and love me beyond my limited understanding!
