Each year at VBS we’ve always had a “Mission” to help someone in the community! This year we’re going to be helping EmpowHERment.

EmpowHERment is a Tampa Bay-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women and families thrive by fostering the skills, resources, and relationships needed to achieve financial, mental, and emotional self-sufficiency. Founded in 2018, EmpowHERment provides no-cost programs and services including therapy support, financial literacy education, entrepreneurship training, wellness workshops, mentorship, and access to essential resources through its boutique and hygiene pantry.

At the heart of their mission is the belief that when you invest in a woman, you create lasting change for families and communities. Through meaningful connections, compassionate support, and practical tools for success, EmpowHERment empowers women to overcome challenges, build confidence, and create sustainable futures for themselves and those they love.

We had our volunteer planning meeting today and are ready for our first day, Sunday June 14th!
