PASTOR'S PAGE
If you were present in either of our Morning Services this past Sunday, I am sure you would agree that each was a very powerful and moving experience! Several of you shared with me that the entire service was one of the most Unforgettable Worship Services you have ever attended! As I have said many times, we never want the Observance of The Lord’s Supper to just be “tacked on” to the end of a service! It should be impactful, moving and an Spiritual Experience that leaves us more grateful than ever for the Sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us. From your feedback, I believe Sunday morning accomplished exactly that!

I must share with you how excited I am about how the Lord is Greatly Blessing our Church. And that is not just my observation. Several of our Deacons stated similar comments in our recent Deacons’ Meeting. We are seeing new families visiting every week. Many of those families have joined our Church. Individuals are being saved and baptized each Sunday. (For example, we have 5 more precious folks to be baptized this Sunday morning.) Also, it was encouraging to see that our Sunday’s Offerings were back up to where they needed to be. Yes, God’s Blessings upon Valley are obvious to even the casual Church members. And we give Him all the Glory!

Did you realize that we are only three weeks away from our Live Presentations of “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames?” The Dates again are September 27-29. Now is the time for us to “step up” and get intentional in our preparations for these 3 powerful nights.

We still need several of you to sign up to be a part of the Cast and Crew of “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames!” We have listed on the back of this newsletter the number of individuals we still need to complete our Cast and Crew! I promise you that it will be a rewarding experience for you personally. We will have New Sign-Up Posters throughout our Church again this Sunday! Help us complete our Cast and Crew this week!

Also, we need to be putting up Posters in every location we can. We must let people know that “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames” is coming to Valley. The most effective way to get guests to attend is to hand out Free Tickets. Please take plenty of tickets this Sunday! And give them all away!

One of the opportunities we have to let folks know specifically about “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames” and generally about Valley Baptist Church is by having a Booth at the White County Fair during the week of September 14-19. We can give out Free Tickets to “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames,” and hand out information about our Church. If you would like to volunteer at our Booth, and represent Valley, sign up this Sunday. Stay as long as you can on whatever day you are able to attend. You will receive a Free Pass into the Fair Grounds and I will buy you a sno-cone!

Our Ministry Sunday is one week away! Yes, it’s next Sunday, September 13, during our Sunday School hour (9:15-10:30 am). There will be over 35 Ministries of our Church individually highlighted. We are going to have a Light, Continental Breakfast for you to enjoy as you walk through our Fellowship Hall and view each ministry. A Valley member will be in each Booth to answer questions and give out material about their specific ministry. And Ministry Sunday will give you the opportunity to become both informed and involved in the life of your Church. That’s next Sunday!

Now this Sunday is part of the Labor Day Weekend, but we are having our Regular Morning Schedule with Worship Services at 8:00 and 10:30, and Sunday School at 9:30 am. It’s going to be another Incredible Day in the Lord’s House! I look forward to seeing you then!

Please be in Prayer for Kevin & Rhonda Cooley in the death of Kevin's brother.

William Donald "Donnie" Cooley Obituary
William Donald “Donnie” Cooley, Jr., 66, of Bald K**b, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 28, 2026. He was born August 24, 1960 in Searcy to Donald Cooley and the late JoAnn (Barnett) Cooley.

He was preceded in death by his precious mother JoAnn (Barnett) Cooley, Grandparents Nickolas and Lucile Barnett of Crossett, Arkansas, Marguerite Burchfield of Bald K**b; a special uncle, Melvin Cooley; Special aunts, Ida Mae Burchfield and Glenn Cooley, a mother-in-love, Norma Pate Boyce and Brother-in-love, Wayne Pate.

Donnie has left behind his wife of 46 years, whom he had been together with for nearly 50 years, Belinda Pate Cooley; his children, Will Cooley and wife Cassie, Caleb Cooley and wife Meagan, and Bethany Cooley Godfrey and husband Mickey. Also, left behind his best buddy (his dad) Donald Cooley and bonus mom Sue; his brother Kevin Cooley and wife Rhonda; Niece Shelby Ramsey and husband Austin; a great niece, Taylor Ramsey; bonus sisters, Vicki Cromarty and husband Dave, Julie O’Reilly and husband Marc; bonus niece, Lauren Cromarty; Sister-in-love Judy Pate as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends. Donnie’s favorite people were his grandchildren, Noah Cooley, Miranda Redman, Samantha Brewer, Daijreonna Warren, Amelia Cooley, Mason Cooley, Emberlyn Cooley, Tytan Godfrey, Laiklynn Godfrey, Sayler Cooley, Malachi Cooley, Micah Cooley, and Taitum Godfrey.

Donnie served as a deacon at Central Baptist Church in Bald K**b for 29 years and was a member of Crosby Baptist Church in Searcy. He retired from Entergy and has enjoyed his cattle farm for many years. Donnie was a man of God who adored his family and thrived to follow Jesus in every way. One of his favorite things was that he loved spending time with family and friends at Tates Bluff deer camp. Donnie brightened up any room that he walked into, with his compassion for everyone, no one felt they were alone. He truly had a spirit and heart for Jesus. He will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church in Bald K**b with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald K**b-Judsonia.
