Not every disagreement means someone is wrong.

As Shaykh Jamaal Diwan reminds us, our scholarly tradition recognizes a spectrum of valid opinions. The question, then, is how we navigate those differences with knowledge, humility, and adab.

Join us this Saturday, October 31, for AIM 25: Ethics of Disagreement, a one-day seminar drawing on Adab al-Ikhtilāf by Shaykh Muḥammad ʿAwwāmah.

Together, we’ll explore how our scholars approached differences of opinion and what their example can teach us about navigating disagreements in our own lives and communities.

A little glimpse of our First Ladies Tea at The Majlis OC🫖🤍

An afternoon of good company, sweet treats, and reflections on the women in our tradition whose legacies continue to inspire us

10/21/2026

Our first Ladies’ Tea at The Majlis OC, and so much to be grateful for 🤍🫖

To Shaykha Muslema, Dr. Hassanah El-Yacoubi, and Dr. Deana Helmy - thank you for sharing your wisdom and helping us reflect on the women in our tradition who paved the way for us, and the legacies we carry forward.

A special thank you to Dough Bake Shop for the amazing scones, cookies, and desserts that made our afternoon all the sweeter!

To our entire team and volunteers, thank you for the care you poured into every detail.

And to everyone who joined us and continues to make The Majlis what it is - thank you. Your presence, your generosity, and the ways you show up for one another are what give this community life. Whether you give your time, make a contribution, or welcome someone new to the table, you help make space for gatherings like these and all that grows from them.
