Suivera is so grateful to share our friend Frederick Nnoma-Addison's incredible event: CELEBRATION OF NATIONS 2026

Celebration of Nations (www.celebrationofnations.org) is an extraordinary annual gathering of representatives from all 173 foreign embassies in Washington, DC, as well as state, federal, faith, business, non-profit, and industry leaders from the Washington, DC Metro area, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

The celebration comprises a parade of national flags, recognition of every single country in the world; their ambassadors, diplomats, embassies, and nationals; prayer for nations, national leaders, and governments; special remarks and messages; as well as uplifting choral music.

Celebration of Nations is a Rhema anniversary outreach event to the nations climaxing a full year of Christian ministry and humanitarian work. The concept is based on Scripture, " . . . my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations" (Mark 11:17).

Society often conditions us to view aging as a curse, treating our changing bodies as detriments rather than markers of a deeply lived life. But reaching each new season of life isn't a failure to remain youthful—it is a profound opportunity and a gift that not everyone is granted.

The defining factor isn’t whether we age, but whether we are actively choosing our relationship with that process or passively letting the experience happen to us. When we stop letting fear dictate how we view the mirror and instead make the conscious choice to embrace each chapter, we unlock a life grounded in presence, self-compassion, and genuine gratitude.

When we bury our heads in the sand and pretend aging isn't happening, we deny ourselves one of the greatest privileges of existence. Resisting the passage of time doesn't keep us young—it simply causes us to miss the profound gifts, depth, and opportunities that each chapter brings.

When we reject something as fundamental as growing older, that disconnection compounds across every area of our lives, creating unnecessary internal pressure. Reframing aging as a true privilege allows us to step out of resistance, anchor back into who we are, and experience the full richness of the life we have.

Aging and the passage of time happen to every single person, yet society continues to treat getting older and our mortality as taboo topics to avoid. When we fear the unknown, our natural reflex is often to run from it, push it away, or pretend it doesn't exist—disconnecting us from ourselves and each other.

The opportunity lies in transforming that fear into connection. Instead of self-sabotaging through avoidance or resistance, leaning into the reality of aging allows us to build a more conscious, meaningful, and grounded relationship with every season of life.

When we push away care, compassion, and compliments because of subconscious feelings of unworthiness, we unknowingly close the gateway to receiving love. But that channel is never permanently shut—we have the power to proactively reopen it at any time.

The shift begins with intentional daily practice. By learning to compliment yourself in the mirror and truly receiving your own appreciation without ego, you break the cycle of deflection and rewire your capacity to let genuine kindness and abundance flow back into your life.

When someone offers you a compliment, they are giving you a simple gift: I see you, I hear you, and I recognize your value.

Yet so often, our automatic reflex is to minimize that moment—making excuses, pointing out flaws, or saying, "Oh, I got it on sale!" In that split second, we devalue ourselves while trying to deflect the spotlight. Learning to simply say, "Thank you for seeing me," honors the connection and allows you to receive the appreciation you deserve.

When someone offers a compliment that challenges how we view ourselves, our automatic defense is often to dismiss it as polite flattery or "false kindness." But when someone takes the time out of their day to acknowledge your value, kindness is simply kindness.

Every time you deflect genuine appreciation, you cut yourself off from the connection and warmth being offered. In a world that could always use more care, learning to lower your guard and simply receive is one of the most transformative gifts you can give yourself.

When we repeatedly deflect compliments, care, and kindness, we unintentionally signal to the universe that we aren't open to receiving. We push away genuine support out of subconscious feelings of unworthiness, only to find ourselves wondering why positive experiences aren't flowing into our lives.

The channels of abundance are never permanently closed—we simply have to choose to reopen them. By catching our reflexive habits of deflection and allowing love to land, we restore our natural capacity to receive all the good already trying to reach us.

When we are consumed by our deepest fears, our minds become so focused on surviving the challenge that we forget to leave space to receive appreciation.

Even after stepping through a massive hurdle, internal conditioning can convince us that we aren't worthy of recognition. Overcoming that resistance starts with realizing that the barriers blocking praise, love, and acknowledgment are often the ones we built ourselves.
