Agape Youth Group was created with one simple mission: to give our young people a place where they are loved, welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow closer to God and one another.
Over the years, Agape has become much more than a youth group. It has become a family. A place where friendships are formed, faith is strengthened, leaders are developed, and young people are reminded that they matter.
Like any ministry, Agape is not perfect. It may not always look fully structured or fit everyone's idea of what youth ministry should be. Sometimes our meetings are loud, sometimes they're creative, sometimes they're simple, and sometimes they're just young people gathering together and being themselves. But ministry is not measured by perfection, it's measured by the lives being touched.
Not every young person learns, grows, or encounters Christ in the same way. Some connect through prayer, some through service, some through conversations, and some simply by knowing there is a safe place they can belong. We strive to create opportunities for all of those experiences.
We understand that people will always have different opinions, perspectives, and feelings about youth ministry. We respect those viewpoints and recognize that everyone wants what is best for our youth. Constructive feedback helps ministries grow, and we remain committed to learning and improving wherever we can.
At the heart of it all, Agape exists because our young people deserve a place where they can ask questions, build confidence, discover their gifts, serve others, and encounter God's love in a meaningful way.
Thank you to every parent, volunteer, supporter, donor, parishioner, and young person who has helped make Agape what it is today. Your encouragement, prayers, and belief in our youth continue to make a difference.
Our youth are not just the future of the Church; they are an important part of the Church right now. As long as there are young people searching for connection, purpose, faith, and community, there will always be a reason for Agape.
"Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers." (1 Timothy 4:12)
At the end of the day, youth ministry is not about perfect programs, flawless schedules, or having all the answers. It is about showing up for our young people, walking beside them, and reminding them that they are loved by God. If even one young person discovers their worth, strengthens their faith, finds hope during a difficult season, or realizes they belong because of Agape, then every effort has been worthwhile. The seeds planted today may not always be visible tomorrow, but they have the power to transform lives for generations to come.
