John's Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod providing Word and Sacrament to Confessional Lutherans for over 130 years. John's has proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Popple Creek/Sauk Rapids area to many generations of those who gather for worship in this historic place. Presently they are served by their 14th resident pastor, the Rev.
Our worship is at 10:30AM each Sunday morning. Sunday School and Adult Bible Study is at 9:30AM each Sunday (Sept.-May). We are a mission-driven congregation that focuses on preaching and teaching the Saving Message of Jesus Christ. We preach Christ Crucified for the redemption and salvation of all people. We invite you to join us this Sunday as together we worship the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. John's offers opportunities for all people to get involved in our many educational and fellowship activities. We have a traditional Christmas Eve (Pageant) Nativity each year, which involves all members of the congregation. We have tradition Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve service, and an Ascension Day service. Fellowship activities and fundraisers include a spring Hog Roast dinner, and a Booja Dinner in the fall. We have a Vacation Bible School each summer for children of all ages. There are Bible Studies for all, a Women's mission organization called the LWML (Lutheran Women in Mission or Lutheran Women's Mission League). There is a education program called Catechism for Confirmation which prepares middle school aged students for the Rite of Confirmation which happens each year on Palm Sunday.
