John's Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod providing Word and Sacrament to Confessional Lutherans for over 130 years. John's has proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Popple Creek/Sauk Rapids area to many generations of those who gather for worship in this historic place. Presently they are served by their 14th resident pastor, the Rev.

Our worship is at 10:30AM each Sunday morning. Sunday School and Adult Bible Study is at 9:30AM each Sunday (Sept.-May). We are a mission-driven congregation that focuses on preaching and teaching the Saving Message of Jesus Christ. We preach Christ Crucified for the redemption and salvation of all people. We invite you to join us this Sunday as together we worship the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. John's offers opportunities for all people to get involved in our many educational and fellowship activities. We have a traditional Christmas Eve (Pageant) Nativity each year, which involves all members of the congregation. We have tradition Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve service, and an Ascension Day service. Fellowship activities and fundraisers include a spring Hog Roast dinner, and a Booja Dinner in the fall. We have a Vacation Bible School each summer for children of all ages. There are Bible Studies for all, a Women's mission organization called the LWML (Lutheran Women in Mission or Lutheran Women's Mission League). There is a education program called Catechism for Confirmation which prepares middle school aged students for the Rite of Confirmation which happens each year on Palm Sunday.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Like most of you I feel like I have been in shock over the murder of Charlie Kirk, a fellow Believer in Jesus Christ our Lord. It will take all of us some time to process his assassination from a faith perspective. Last Sunday we prayed; "We recall with thanksgiving, O Lord, those who served You in days past and now rest from their labors, and we pray that You would keep us in fellowship with all your saints." As I prayed those words I couldn't help but think of Charlie Kirk. This coming Sunday I will dig a bit deeper and talk about a Christ-centered response to the evil of this act, and evil that surrounds each of us today in this world. I hope to bring a sense of comfort and resolve for our lives as Believers as we live each day to the Glory of Christ Jesus and to the furtherance of His Kingdom, just as I believe Charlie sought to do. Join us in person at St. John's, or watch us live on this stream, this Sunday for worship at 10:30AM. Blessings to all!

NO LIVE STREAM OF OUR WORSHIP TODAY:

PASTOR AND MRS. REHWALDT are not present today because they are serving the Minnesota North District at the Breezy Point Chapel. The Breezy Point Chapel is located near the town of Breezy Point and close to the vacation areas of the Brainerd lakes area. The Breezy Point Chapel is an outreach ministry of the Minnesota North District providing a worship experience for vacationers in our district. It is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Over each summer thousands of Christians worship at the Breezy Point Chapel. Pastor has a historical connection to the ministry of the Breezy Point Chapel. His uncle the late Rev. Edgar Rehwaldt served as the coordinator for the chapel for many years before his death. Today a cousin of Pastor Rehwaldt carries on the work of coordinating the chapel schedule. Several other family members of Pastor Rehwaldt continue to be involved in the mission and ministry of the Breezy Point Chapel. Pastor Rehwaldt has been involved in the Breezy Point ministry for nearly 40 years. This Sunday Mrs. Judith Rehwaldt will be playing the keyboard for the worship, and Pastor Tim will be proclaiming the Word of the Lord. Please pray for their safe travel as they travel to Breezy Point and back again today. Pastor Rehwaldt as Circuit Visitor to our circuit has many other commitments, so this is a quick day trip up and back to share the Saving Message of Jesus Christ with the People of God. May the Lord bless the People of God today at the Breezy Point Chapel!
