It’s simple… my life was changed at a women’s retreat.

In January of 2021, the Lord led me to a women’s retreat in Austin, Texas and since that weekend, my life has never been the same. Those women. They looked past my brokenness and called out the gold in me at a time when I couldn’t see it in myself. They prophesied and prayed over me, speaking life into the places in my heart that still needed healing. They championed me to become all that God created me to be and they continually pointed me back to Jesus, the only one who truly saves, heals and delivers. They literally loved me back to life, and my life is a million times better because of it.

My heart literally aches for women to encounter the real man Jesus, live in the fullness of abundant life that is available to them and be set free.

I’m so excited to announce Dwell, the first of many Christian women retreats I’ll be hosting.

Join me this October 10-12 for a weekend of fellowship, freedom and fun nestled in the Catskill Mountains (New York).

Jeremiah 29:11 has always been my favorite bible verse and one I hold so close to my heart...

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

I think it’s a verse people often use to enlighten themselves by believing that Gods good plans for their life is to avoid hard times or to remove them from the tough situation and they’re in.

But what if this isn’t the case at all?

I think a lot of the time we would like to believe that Gods plan for our life won’t include trials or suffering. But what if God intentionally keeps us in those hard seasons, not with the intention of harming us, but with the best intentions of using those trials to help mold and shape us into who He created us to be?

In this season, I’ve fallen in love with this verse all over again by truly understanding in context what it means. I’ve realized that hard times won’t last forever, and there is beauty in the struggle.

And ultimately, when I look back at all God has already done in my life, it is one of my favorite gentle reminders to learn to embrace the valleys because Ive experienced how it makes the hilltops even sweeter.

This morning I woke up and immediately I was consumed with anxiety regarding the unknown of the future.

I hopped in my car, and did the only thing I know to do in these moments; I turned on worship music and went for the longest drive.

When we worship, we shift our focus off of the battle we are facing (anxiety, depression, unsettled feelings...) to The One who is all knowing and who is able to solve all of our problems.

I especially love the lyrics of this song:

“I won’t be scared of the fire
or scared of the water
You’re the great overcomer
You’re living in me
You are the man in the fire
You walked on the water
You’re the great overcomer
You’re here with me, Emmanuel”

Emmanuel translated literally means “God is with us.” And today, a long drive with worship music blasting was the perfect reminder that He is always with us, He is for us and that we never have to fight our battles alone.

Friends who pray for you. Friends who encourage you to be bold. Friends who speak life over you and truth into you. Friends who tell you just how much of a treasure you are. Friends who lead you closer to Jesus, and love you right where you’re at. Friends who welcome your brokenness and provide a safe space to be real and vulnerable. Friends who walk along side you and make sure you know you are never alone.
