San Mateo Quaker Worship Group The San Mateo Worship Group holds meeting for worship following the Quaker unprogrammed tradition.

We gather in silence, waiting expectantly for the leading of the Spirit, creating a space within and among ourselves for reflection and revelation.

We should notice that we are already supported at every moment. There is the earth below our feet and there is the air, filling our lungs and emptying them.

NATALIE GOLDBERG

Friends, I've been thinking about this for some time: that every breath is a blessing, and yet we treat the air with so little care and respect. As a society, we dump all kinds of waste into the air without a second thought. We treat it as a limitless resource. Yet, any photograph from space shows us how limited it is. We can live without food for quite a few days. We can live without water for a few hours. We can live without sleep for not much more than a day. But we cannot live without clean air for only a few minutes or seconds. Every breath is a live-giving blessing.
