Over the years, the Alliance for California Traditional Arts has been a major supporter of the work that Kalingafornia Laga does. Tonight, we are proud to participate in the ACTA Round Table Artist Series happening from 6-8pm! If you haven’t RSVP’d already, we hope you’re able to snag a seat. We’ll be sharing about our experiences in the ACTA programs — from being Living Cultures awardees, to receiving Master-Apprenticeship intensives — each of these programs have been crucial to our development and impact as a circle. We’ll do some sharing about our experiences, followed by a short weaving demo. Manlaga Tako! We hope to see you there!

Join us in San Francisco on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 6–8 PM for an evening of art sharing and conversation with ACTA’s Apprenticeship and Living Cultures awardees, including members of Kalingafornia Laga, a weaving collective of Pilipinx-American women, Chavalos de Aquí y Allá, an organization that will share about their work in Nicaraguan traditional dance, and Pezhham Akhavass, a master Iranian percussionist of Tombak (Persian Goblet Drum). We’ll also have an info session about our funding opportunities for 2024. Refreshments will be served.
