She is very active in helping out in school, church, community, and even at home. She's not your typical little girl. She's always looking out for those around her, making sure everyone is okay. She likes to volunteer to be a teacher's aide every opportunity she gets to and helps out in watching younger students during her recess periods. She is also a member of the choir in the children's worship
service of the Church of Christ in Alameda Congregation. March 2014, Myla was diagnosed with Myeloid Sarcoma. (A myeloid sarcoma (chloroma, granulocytic sarcoma, extramedullary myeloid tumor), is a solid tumor composed of immature white blood cells[2] called myeloblasts. A chloroma is an extramedullary manifestation of acute myeloid leukemia; in other words, it is a solid collection of leukemic cells occurring outside of the bone marrow.) Because of this, she is no longer able to do many of the things she loves to do, but she is always in a high spirit with a very positive outlook. She's always the one to say that she's okay. She wants to get better already so that no one will have to worry for her anymore. She is getting many material gifts, but she says she appreciates prayers the most. Her family is very thankful for all the love and support that Myla is getting. This time, we're asking for participation and volunteers as we hold a bone marrow registration drive. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant. All it takes is about 10 minutes of your time to do a cheek swab sample. Please come out and support this cause. You, with God's help, maybe the one that can help Myla get back to her usual self, back to being active.... back to being helpful.... back to perform her duty as a choir member which she longs for the most. We will post the info of the drive once everything has been finalized. Thank s to the ones who already came forward to to let us know they are more than willing to help. That means a lot to the whole family, especially to Myla.
