Beloved Way

Beloved Way BELOVED Way is a compassionate & contemplative Christian community gathering online and in-person! We believe that every person is a Beloved child of God.

Because of this, we are an Open & Affirming Community celebrating our God-given diversity of race, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation and gender identity. We also welcome all those who have been hurt, betrayed, abandoned or rejected by the church itself. This is a brave space where you can re-encounter the Sacred in a judgment-free and open-minded space! As a community, we strive to live out o

ur values of extravagant grace, radical inclusion and relentless compassion. We are working to end the stigma and break the silence held by churches about the importance of mental health and the experience of living with a mental illness. We offer a Sunday morning worship service, a weekly Compassion Practice group, Bible studies and book groups, social gatherings, and more. Explore more about us at https://belovedsandiego.org!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” —John 14:27

Jesus often greeted people with peace before anything else — before teaching, before healing, before sending people out into the world.

Let this be God’s invitation to you today:
Release what you cannot carry alone.
Breathe deeply.
Trust that grace is still at work within you and around you.

The Church is like a banquet, the late Rachel Held Evans wrote. The guest list is full of mismatched, messy, complicated people. The wine is flowing. There’s room at the table for doubters, dreamers, saints, failures, outsiders, and everyone still figuring it out.

Grace means everyone is invited, not because we earned it, but because Love has saved a seat for each of us.

We often think of sharing the Gospel as teaching and preaching, telling people about Jesus, or inviting people to church.

We also share the Gospel whenever we embody God's love, mercy, and compassion: Choosing to love people, even when it's not easy. Befriending those who have been ignored and overlooked. Being a compassionate presence when it would be easier to turn away.

May our lives speak of God’s mercy and compassion, not only in what we say, but in how we love one another as Jesus loves us.

You are not an accident. You are not forgotten. The One who shaped the stars is the same One who knows you — fully, deeply, personally.

When fear feels loud or the way feels uncertain, this promise whispers a deeper truth: You are already claimed in love, not because you had to do anything to earn it, but because God chose you and called you by name.

Resurrection wasn't just a one-time event; it is the "new shape of reality," as Fr. Richard Rohr writes.

The resurrection transforms the very meaning of our daily existence. The risen Christ is a living presence, quietly moving through the ordinary moments of our lives to shape, invite, and call us into deeper connection and transformation.

When we realize that Christ is all around us and within us, infusing everything and everyone with the Divine, every moment becomes a sacred invitation to witness and serve God in the world.

Healing doesn’t mean undoing the hurt that happened — we can't always put the pieces back together.

Like a kaleidoscope, your experiences can shift and rearrange to form a new, complex, and beautiful picture.

You are not beyond repair. You are still becoming.

“I am the good shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” —John 10:11

Jesus lived these words all the way to the cross. The Good Shepherd lays down his life, not as a tragic end, but as a profound act of love that refuses to abandon the flock.

In the resurrection, we see that this love is stronger than fear, stronger than violence, stronger even than the grave. The Shepherd who was willing to lay down his life also rises to lead us into new life, restoring, renewing, and calling us by name.

From devastation to hope, from loss to joy, from a sealed tomb to an empty one: Easter reminds us that God is always at work, even when all seems lost, even in the quiet, even in the dark.

The resurrection is more than a moment in history; it’s a promise that death, darkness, and endings never have the final say.

Whatever feels "buried" in your life, God is still moving. Your story isn't over yet.

New Bible study starts tonight (April 8th)! Join us in the Zoom room at 7:00pm PT for "Asking the Bible a Better Question: What's the Invitation?" We're taking a fresh approach to the parables and stories of the Bible. Instead of asking, "What does it mean?" we’ll explore a more personal question: "What is God’s invitation to you in this story?"
