Phase 2 is not about reliving trauma. It is about gently learning to face it with truth, courage, and the assurance that you do not have to walk through it alone.

One of the most important truths we discover is this:

God does not cause trauma. People do.

That distinction matters.

As we begin to separate God's heart from the harm others have caused, we create room for hope, healing, and a new understanding of who He is.

Healing doesn't happen all at once. It happens one safe step at a time.

If you're carrying a story that feels too heavy to tell, know this: you don't have to share everything today. Sometimes healing begins simply by allowing yourself to acknowledge that your story matters.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." — John 10:10

This is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Sexual Assault Awareness month.

Our members often have experienced both of these heinous crimes against humanity. We would like to invite you to be part of their healing by contributing to our programs, that help heal the source of the problem.

These women often think no one cares about them because they're not suffering from broken bones, or a cancer diagnosis, or something visible - Paul Conti calls trauma the invisible epidemic, and we are committed to helping women heal from it. Please prayerfully consider joining us and showing these women they are seen, and they are worth supporting.

Ladies, healing doesn’t require you to have everything figured out.
It simply asks you to begin.

Our Phase 1 Study Group is starting on the 16th, and it’s designed for women who are ready to take that first step—at their own pace, in a safe and supportive space.

If you're in the San Diego area, and you're ready to start your journey into deeper healing, we invite you to join us as we start a Phase Study Fellowship Group April 16th at Newbreak Church in Teirrasanta.

In Phase 1, we start with a simple truth:
You experienced trauma. You can invite God into your healing.

This is not a space where you have to:
– share everything
– be “better”
– or have the right words

This is a space where you are:
seen
supported
allowed to move gently

Together, we begin reconnecting to what trauma tried to take—your sense of safety, your voice, and your God-given worth.

Through reflection, grounding practices, and faith-centered healing, you’ll be supported every step of the way as you begin this journey.

Starts: Thursday April 16th 6:30-8:00pm
Runs: 9 consecutive weeks

Location: Newbreak Church Teirrasanta
10791 Tierrasanta Blvd,
San Diego, CA 92124

There is a moment at the end of Phase 1 that is unlike any other.

It’s the moment when a woman begins to tell the truth of her story—out loud.

Not the version she’s edited for others.
Not the version shaped by survival.
Her story.

And what I witnessed this past week… I’m still holding it with so much reverence.

One woman shared her story with such clarity and power, it felt like listening to a TED Talk. You could see her connecting the dots—how early wounds had woven themselves through her life—and for the first time, she wasn’t just reliving it… she was understanding it.

Another woman stood in the tension of wanting to hide and choosing to be seen anyway. Even in a room filled with safety and compassion, she named her fear of being judged—and in doing so, found the courage to share what was raw, vulnerable, and sacred.

Another found her voice in a way we had never heard before—speaking with coherence, with grace, with mercy toward herself.

This is what happens when stories are told in safe spaces.

Silence breaks.
Voices return.
Healing begins.

It is an honor beyond words to sit in these moments.

And if you are holding your story—still untold, still heavy—you don’t have to carry it alone.

There is a place for you.

This reflection explores the difference between trusting God to survive difficult moments and trusting Him for complete healing. Many of us learn how to turn to God in crisis—crying out, surrendering, and relying on Him when we feel overwhelmed. But when the crisis passes, we often take control back, carrying our wounds without inviting Him into the deeper work of restoration.

Through a personal journey of trauma recovery, this piece gently reveals how true healing begins when we move beyond partial trust and begin surrendering everything—the pain, the patterns, and the beliefs we’ve carried about ourselves. It acknowledges that trust is not immediate or perfect, but something built over time, often in moments of doubt, fear, and uncertainty.

The Litany of Trust from the Sisters of Life becomes a central anchor in this journey, offering language for the fears we struggle to name and a pathway toward deeper surrender. The simple but powerful prayer, “Jesus, I trust in You,” becomes a steady refrain—not as a declaration of certainty, but as an invitation for God to meet us where we are.

This piece reminds us that God is not intimidated by our trauma or discouraged by our questions. He meets us with patience and compassion, inviting us to trust Him little by little. Full healing may not come on our timeline, but as we continue to return to Him, we begin to experience transformation—not by striving, but by allowing Him into every part of our story.

Ultimately, healing becomes less about having all the answers and more about no longer carrying the weight alone.

Many women healing from trauma discover that the hardest battles aren’t always around them — they’re in their thoughts.

Shame.
Self-blame.
Fear.
The quiet lies that try to convince us we are broken, unworthy, or beyond healing.

In this new guided meditation, we reflect on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6) and how each piece protects us from the toxic thoughts trauma can leave behind.

The Belt of Truth.
The Breastplate of Righteousness.
The Shoes of Peace.
The Shield of Faith.
The Helmet of Salvation.
The Sword of the Spirit.

Each piece reminds us of what is true about who we are in Christ, even when our thoughts try to tell us otherwise.

If you’re walking a healing journey, we invite you to sit with this meditation and explore the deeper reflection in our newest blog post.

You are not defined by what happened to you.
And you do not have to walk this healing journey alone.

People rarely see the whole of who we are.

They see moments — a reaction, a conversation, a difficult day, or a moment when we seem strong and composed. But beneath the surface is a lifetime of experiences, healing, resilience, and faith that shaped that moment.

In our newest blog post, we explore the reflection “You Are More Than How You Present in the Moment.” This practice helps women recognize the strengths they bring into relationships, respond to their trauma responses with compassion, and remember that healing includes learning to give themselves the same grace they offer others.

This reflection is part of Phase 16 of the Phasing Out of Trauma journey, where we begin restoring greater health in our relationships and learning how to navigate them with wisdom and honesty.

There’s a particular kind of anxiety that doesn’t shout.

It whispers:

“Don’t mess this up.”
“Don’t disappoint them.”
“Be better.”
“Try harder.”

And before we realize it, our chest is tight, our breath is shallow, and our worth feels tied to how well we perform.

This week, we recorded a guided EFT tapping meditation for the fear of not meeting expectations.

Not to eliminate responsibility.
Not to lower standards.
But to calm the nervous system enough to remember:

You are more than your output.
You are more than how you show up in one moment.
You are allowed to grow at your pace.

We paired tapping with magnolia, blue lotus, and frankincense — oils that support the heart, the mind, and identity beyond achievement.

If you’ve been carrying quiet pressure, this is for you.

Boundaries are not walls.
They are stewardship.

After trauma, many of us learned that love meant over-giving, over-functioning, or disappearing to keep the peace. Saying “no” felt dangerous. Having needs felt selfish.

But healthy boundaries do not push people away — they create the safety where real connection can grow.

In Phase 16 of Phasing Out of Trauma, we explore how boundaries restore agency, calm the nervous system, strengthen attachment, and honor our spiritual calling. We are made in the image of God — but we are not called to be God.

You are allowed to:
• Protect your energy
• Honor your limits
• Say no without shame
• Love without losing yourself

Healing is not self-erasure.
It is learning to stand rooted — and love well.
